recommend your car $15K or less. he doesnt want to buy a used car, wants it to have a warranty but nothing expensive.

Re: my friend needs a car..

I would think you could get into a hyundai accent or something very small like that for around or under $15k it is not going to have alot of options though.

What about a pre-owned certified vehicle you can get those at a dealership and they have a warranty most of the time.

I have had great experiences with Hyundais and would recommend them. I had an Accent, which was running beautifully at 160k miles until someone crashed into me.

Our current car is a Sonata, and it's a great car and quite spacious for a mid-size sedan too.

I would recommend a year old toyota corrolla...if you get it from the dealership and its certified pre-owned then it will come with a warranty. Its not money smart to buy a brand new car anyway. Buy something a year or two since it depreciates immediately.

The issue with this is that saturns will no longer be made as GM is closing down their line. You may run into a issue getting parts if a car ever needed to be repaired.

ETA: My ILs just bought a Hyundai Elantra for under $12K. The car dealerships are struggling, so you can haggle car prices!

Toyota Avalon! talk about room and a great ride. a lot of standard stuff. I bought a used one from the Middle Island Toyota and it was for under $12,000 for a 2000 year Avalon. I now have 140,000 on it and still going strong

Suzuki makes a small car that they compare to the Mini Cooper. its really inexpensive & gets great reviews for its size & price point.

I'm also looking so I'm pretty familiar of the prices. He can get a toyota yaris or corolla for under $15k. I don't know what their warranty plans are.

It was reported in Newsday this past week as to what lines the two motor companies were going to shut down.
