My GF wants to get a dog
She lives in an apt in midtown and wants a small breed. I asked her to get a dog from a rescue org or a shelter but what kind of dog would you recommend? Also, can you recommend rescue orgs or shelters she can look into?

Don't know how accurate it is, but this may help her find a breed to suit her lifestyle as far as size, amount of activity, energy level, etc..

Def have her go to the CACC in the city. It is a kill shelter and they have tons of dogs -big and small.
Petfinders.com is another good place to start. So is the Mayors Alliance for animals..

Honestly, I would check out the CACC.

I got my one small dog from a rescue group in the city called Waggy Tail Rescue...they specialize in small breed rescues.
