I'm so sorry to hear this news!! I'm sure he is looking down on your now and forever. hang in there. Even though he will not be there in person I'm sure you will have such wonderful stories to tell your child. My prayers are with you and your family during this time

I am so Sorry for your loss. I know what it is to loose Grandparents. Mine passed away a few years ago and I still feel the void espically during this time. Just try to remember he is in a place where is feels great and is watching over you and your family. Take the time to grieve. We are all here for you!

Im so sorry for your loss.
When I was PG with my first, My Uncle Died, the uncle who raised me. I thought I wwould die too, and trying to eat, stay hydrated etc were sooooo hard. I have no adive because I dont know HOW I made it through, it was rough and I spent more then a few days not even getting out of bed, but It did lessen with time, and I just wish you the easiest time I can think of as you get through this

You have every right to grieve in your own way. Keeping your emotions "in check" can just build them up inside. It is okay to cry..it is healthier than holding it all in.
I am so sorry for your lose. I know how painful it is not to have your grandparents hold your baby...I can say that the pain does lessen over time..well it changes, not lessens. It goes from hurts like hell every minute to learning to live with it and only crying once in a while...but it takes time.

Thanks so much for all of your kind words of sympathy and encouragement. We buried my grandfather today, DH kept telling me that all the rain was God was crying too that he had to take him from us. It was so hard to say goodbye but I know he is no longer suffering and in pain and that makes me smile since he was too good of a man to suffer. I put the sono picture in his jacket right over his heart and when the baby is born he or she will have a picture of great-grandpa in his/her room.

My only advice is to cry like you need to - releasing your emotions will probably be the one thing both you & your baby need.
I do think it's absolutely wonderful that he was able to hear that you are expecting. I know older generations cherish the idea of living on - and that's exactly what your grandfather will do - live on through your wonderful memories of him that you share with your child.
