My husband is very sick - need some advice quickly!!

DH started of yesterday with a horrible constant cough, came home today from work felt weak, legs hurt and I checked his temp, it was 101.2 that was an hour ago. I just checked it again and it's 102. I think I should tell him to take a cold bath right?

If the fever goes over 104 - should I take him to the ER? Please help me out here!!! TIAChat Icon

no do not give him a cold bath!!! you will send him into shock. luke warm. make sure he is not bundled up. cool rags on his neck, forehead, underarms pitts. advil or tylanol every 4 hours if over 103. to help the cough have him sit in the shower with it running and breath in the steam for about 10 min. then sit by a slightly open window and breath in the cold air. if the temp is not controled by advil and cool rags or bath and continues to go up or his coughing goes into a fit then go to the hospital. I hope this helps. please keep ups updatedChat Icon

This is EXACTLY what my dad had when he was away in Myrtle Beach. Its the Flu---he got a prescription for Tamiflu which ws supposed to shorten the amount of time he had it, but was pretty weak for a good week or so.

I would give him a lukewarm bath, you don;t want to go too cold, as it will put him into shock.

It sucks, i am sorry.Chat Icon Chat Icon
