my MOH is tying the knot herself in just 5 months!!!!

I need some recent btdt b/c I feel like everything has changed in the 5 years I did this stuff...and I don't know Nassau all that well.

we are looking for a hall first and foremost. in Nassau. She has an appt at Fox Hollow and Westbury Manor (Chat Icon ) but I was wondering if you could give me some other places that are similar in style and "feel" to these two. more old world sedated glamour than carrera marble glory, kwim?

we do need to stick to Nassau b/c the ceremony is in BK and it would be too far to go into Suffolk. she'd need a room for about a 100 people.

oh, and the wedding is in JUNE!! Chat Icon

all suggestions are appreciated. I know there is another place for this post, but I forgot my log in Chat Icon

TIA!!!!

My wedding was at Stewart Manor Country Club. Good food & service. I think there was a 100 person minimum. Reasonable price. It's western Nassau. One wedding at a time. You have the run of the whole place during the entire event. Here's the website...

SMCC

I am not sure if the fabric/lights on the wood beams were put in place for a specific event but they weren't there for my wedding. I think it looks better without the fabric/lights.

Re: my MOH is tying the knot herself in just 5 months!!!!

I got married at the WM.

I also looked at SMCC back then and I thought it was really nice. don 't remember if I did a tasting though.

anyone know how the food is at the Metropolitan? is it close to or on par with the WM?

I called the George Washington Manor but they are under construction this summer.

Jericho Terrace won't be her style...I looked there for my wedding and I liked it but I know her. she needs it to be more subdued.

keep them coming.

anyone know how the pricing is at the suggested places?

The Metropolitan does an amazing job I was very impressed with their food and the place is so nice. Only drawback is that I think they can only hold @ 100 people I could be wrong but my friend had a small wedding and it was beautiful there.

Also I would look at Douglaston Manor--rustic, elegant vibe Queens (Nassau border) but good commute from BK.

love westbury manor...been to many weddding there...

but also agree with the Inn at NHP...recently redone and bought by Scotto brothers (WM is owned by them too) so it was re-done beautifully!

Jericho terrace was nice (had an cool outdoor feel in the cocktail hr room)

thank you girls!!!

so far I've added the Sands and the Metropolitan to the appts list. the Inn at NHP only has the early spot, even though it looks so pretty it may not be doable. Chat Icon

Re: my MOH is tying the knot herself in just 5 months!!!!

This was the exact time frame for my wedding! I planned it in January and it was at the end of June. She should really use the time frame to her advantage. I paid a fraction of what I should have paid for mine because the place wasn't booked and they really wanted to book it instead of lose money by having nothing there that night.

What about Swan Club or Milleridge Inn?

The Metropolitan in Glen Cove can hold way more than 100 people. Our minimum for the Metropolitan was over 100. (They'd probably be open to a lower minimum if you told them, and the minimum for a Sunday could definitely be lower. They will also work with you if you don't make your minimum.) I think we had about 140 people or so people and it wasn't crowded at all. And no one was seated in the balcony area. If you had seating in the balcony area, you could go even higher.

They did an absolutely amazing job for our wedding. I highly recommend them.

ETA -- The Metropolitan CLUB (which is owned/operated by the Metropolitan) is a much smaller venue that likely doesn't hold more than 100 people... if it even holds that many to begin with. Same excellent food, though!
