My "mommy" confessions
#1. I love baby feet. Since having my daughter, I've been obsessed with kissing her piggies -- there is something so darn cute about those pudgie lil toes!!!
#2. I listened to one of her cd's on my iPod this morning on my way to work, and proudly sang along with it... the Backyardigans are true lyrical geniuses!!
What confessions do you have since becoming a mommy?

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. I jiggle constantly, when someone else is holding him, when he is sleeping...that baby jiggle is hard to give up! Sometimes I can't stop shushing!
2. I give Noah a hairdo everynight, some nights he gets a middle part, sometimes a comb-over, sometimes we go all out and he gets a Donald Trump.
3. I miss my maternity clothes! They were awesome.
4. Sometimes when he is asleep I want to (but wouldn't dare) wake him up for a little cuddle
THERE now you know.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. I sing the Noggin songs to myself. 2. While waiting on line and he's not with me, I rock back and forth. 3. When "someone" else is holding him and he cries, I feel happy because I know he wants mommy. 4. I love the way my Dh can make him laugh just by looking at him.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. When my DD goes to sleep at night I cannot wait for her to wake up for her next feed so I can cuddle her.
2. I ALWAYS make eye contact, talk to and kiss and cuddle my DD in the middle of the night when she needs a diaper change although the "experts" will tell you not to look at her.
3. Kiss her cheeks so often its a wonder they havent deflated.
4. Ignore calls from my boss(I work from home) if we are playing and having a good time.
5. Never let her cry..figure she will cry over things later in life that I have no control over so I will do my best to lessen her tears now.
6. Love that she will only settle with me and that the sound of my voice will soothe her straight away.
7.I Fall asleep with her hand grasping my finger through the bars in the cradle.
8. I take her into bed with us without really trying to settle her back in her cradle.
9. Stare at her while she is sleeping in her cradle at night and sometimes shed tears because she is growing so fast and dread the day when she prefers her daddy over me
10. Refuse to put her 0-3 mths clothes away and sometimes put them on her just to see if they will still fit.
11. Wish I was back at the hospital so we could start all over again.
12. Say " I know" in my high pitched voice when my husband is trying to explain something to me - I say that to my DD when she is upset and I am trying to comfort her..
I guess I have a lot of confessions.....there are lots more but too embarassed to go on

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1.I love that Julia only wants ME, she will freak out if I leave the room and she doesn't see me. 2. I love when she gets excited or nervous and leaps into my arms, I can just melt. 3. I watch Noggin soooo much that I sing the songs to myself, or out loud! 4. I still love that Julia sleeps with us at night, even though I know she should be in her own room now, I need her next to me. 5. I love when someone is holding her and she reaches for me and has this little smile on her face, like she is thinking "oh mommy I love you, hold me"!
There is MANY more, but I will be typing all night!

Re: My "mommy" confessions
I love when i put him down for the night and shush him, he closes his eyes and opens them again to check that I am still there. He does this over and over for a min or so and then falls into a deep sleep.
I also sing those darn noggin songs all day...
I go in his room at night before i go to sleep and stare at him for a few min.
I love to squeeze the fat rolls on his inner thighs...
sometimes I get so overwhelmed with love, that i pick him up and hug him so tight that I think i may squash him..
i love when someone else is holding him and he looks around the room for me and follows my every move..

Re: My "mommy" confessions
I am also a noggin singer, and a swayer even when I am not holding her.
I take naps with her even though I am trying to teach her she does not need to be held all the time (I hope Jen isn't reading this)
I put my hand on her belly in the middle of the night to make sure she is breathing and because I can't believe she is real
I also like when she is being held by someone else and looks for me all around the room, or just looks at me to make sure everything is ok.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1 - I realize how marrying a man who can be a good father far outweighs any of the other qualities I looked for while dating - and I'm happy with what I wound up with.
2- Sometimes I pretend I don't hear them crying for me so DH will get up.
3 - When DH gets up, I don't want him to comfort them - I want them to want me more than him.
4- Sometimes I think I could easily run away, change my name & live a different life completely. But then I'd miss my kids & need to fly back - so I have to scrap the plan everytime.
5 - I'm completely winging motherhood.
6 - I used to lie to my son & tell him he was magic. His magical powers are that he can fall asleep in the car & magically wind up in his bed - and that he can make anyone smile by looking at him.
7 - For Maddie, I changed the story of every Disney fairy tale to incorporate the princess getting her masters & ph.d while she waits for the prince.
8 - I love Noggin & miss watching Oswald.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
This is great!
1. I sneak him into our bed during the night for a little bit, just to snuggle and then put him back.
2. If I am feeling lazy or in a rush, I quickly bath him in my bathroom sink. DH hates when I do this, but it makes it go so much faster...
3. Some days we just lay around in our PJ's until 1-2 pm in the afternoon.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1) Even though I just wanted a healthy baby-I secretly was praying to have a girl first-and I always imagined her having light hair, blue eyes and my husband's dimples---Jenna has them all.
2)I am turning Jenna into a mini-me and sometimes we even dress alike.
3)I still look at pregnancy pictures of me and get teary eyed and can't beleive I grew such a wonderful miracle of God inside of me.
4) I miss Oswald too-I used to watch it when Jenna was napping

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. I love that when she gets scared or needs comfort that she looks for mommy and comes to me.
2. Even though there are times when I wish she would give me a break and go to FH I love it that she is constantly up my butt.
3. Love our nitely ritual before she goesto sleep we cuddled in my bed and watch a movie together and then we go and lay in her bed until she falls asleep unless she passes out in the middle of the movie we are watching.
4. I love when I go pick her up to day care how she comes running when she hears me yelling mommy mommy mommy and hugs me.
5. When we watch noggin I get up and dance with her.
6. I know someone else saud this- don't care how silly I look as long as I make her laugh.
7. Sing barney and noggin songs all the time. Regardless if I am with DD or someplace else. Yeah I get looks from people and I jsut laugh I don't care.
8. Love her laugh Iwish I could bottle it and take it with me and when I need to be cheered up when I am away from her I can just listen.
9. When she wakes up in the middle of the nite instead of settling her back into her bed I let her in my bed and fall asleep with her.
10. She has more clothes then I do
I can go on and on but I will leave it at 10 this is a great thread

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1 - I love the way DD's eye's light up when DH gets home from work.
2 - I pinch her thighs and say"cubby tighs, chubby tighs" - she cracks up! lol
3 - I stare at the video monitor when I put my head on my pillow for the night.
4 - I love that everyone LOVES Emma - She has the best personality! She was born with a smile on her face.
5 - I'm so afraid that if I have a 2nd child that he/she will be a nightmare because Emma is so good.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
Hmmmmmmmm...
--I never thought I'd feel so confident having no idea what I was doing.
--I like the way she snuggle in the crook of my left arm right before she goes to sleep...she doesn't get half as comfy with DH.
--I have completely forgotten the pain of childbirth.
--I never thought that DH would be more high-strung and me more laid-back...
--Is it possible to love someone so much in such a short period of time like they have been here your whole life?
--I love that she looks like me and that everyone tells me that
ETA: I don't love singing "La, La, La, La Elmo's World" all the time unconsciously at work and in the bathroom where people can hear me...not very "MTV"

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. I purposely put music on just to watch Ava dance b/c its the funniest thing.
2. I won't get a video monitor b/c I know I'll obsess over it.
3. I sit outside Ava's door in the morning and listen to hear talk to herself when she gets up.
4. I'm a sucker and will do anything to get my son to smile even if it means making the most ridiculous noises and faces.
5. I've never felt so out of control in my life and its actually ok.
6. Watching my DH with the kids is the most amazing thing - melts my heart.
7. I love Jack's Big Music Show and I'm not ashamed to admit it

Re: My "mommy" confessions
Ok, here's mine...
1. I am not opposed to having only one child.
2. I am afraid of passing my bad eating habits onto my daughter.
3. I have files of arts & crafts ideas just waiting for her when she's ready.
4. I love how my DH can't say NO to her- even though I tell him he's spoiling her.
5. I love how much she resembles me- but I really love the ways she is better than me.
6. I would take a bullet for her.
7. I am so scared of clipping her nails- I make DH do it.
8. I LOVE how fiesty she is- even though it's a challenge.
9. I love that she wants me when she gets a boo-boo.
10. I am really her biggest cheerleader- I want her to have high self-esteem.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
1. I watch the disney channel AFTER she falls asleep. 2. I still wake up 2-4x a night to check and make sure she is still breathing. (she is 5). 3. When she spends the day with grandma or her aunt, i usually stay home and wait for her to call me. 4. I love that she has a lot of my personality traits. 5. Sometimes, it really does hurt my feelings when she would rather be with her daddy then me (which is much more often in the last 6 months). 6. i really fear what life is going to be like when she is a teenager.

Re: My "mommy" confessions
Ok one more.
Yesterday I told my kids it was "No Manner Day" They couldn't say "Please", "Thank You" or "Excuse Me" at the dinner table. They had to eat their dinner but couldn't use their forks or their hands - and were not allowed to clear off their plates. It took forever to get the grilled cheese out of Maddie's nose.
I'm still not sure if DH was horrified that the kids were eating face in plate or was just secretly thrilled they were eating without complaint.
