I am so sorry for your loss.
My mother passed away less than a year ago from ovarian cancer, and had lots of digestive issues from it. Towards the end, she just stopped eating. It was awful to watch - I felt like, if I could just get her to put food in her mouth, she'd get stronger and get better. But I couldn't force her. This lasted for about 2 months. I didn't understand it at the time, but her body was in the process of shutting down. She had let go mentally, and her body was catching up.
For a long time I was mad at myself, mad at her, upset, angry at the world... all these things work themselves out. Because it's the Cancer that's the bad guy. In her case, and in your mom's, it was just unstoppable.
Please remember to take it easy, and to lean on your family and friends for support. I found that no favor was too big or too small to ask someone to do for me; people go out of their way to make things easier for someone whose parent has just passed. Take advantage, so you can take care of yourself.
