My oldest and closest friends mother died tonight
My oldest and closest friend is not just a friend she is my family. We have been friends since we were 2 years old. We grew up together next door to eachother...our parents were best friends....we went to college together and have been through so much. But so much that has happened to me not her....Well now it's about her...her mother passed away last night.
Well, 4 or 5 this morning my friend called me (she lives in CA) to tell me her mom passed away. I just got off the phone with her now. She will be heading to NY tonight...
Her mom was 57, was a second mom to me...I just saw her 3 weeks ago.  My heart aches for her and her family. I have been in her shoes and know the pain...I just want to take it away...I dont want her to know the pain.
I cant stop crying...I just hope her mom is not in pain anymore.
Does anyone know the cheapest way for me to rent a car? I really need a car to get from NYC to LI for the funeral and sit shiva. I can't rely on the trains and others this time.

Update...
Found a car on priceline.com, $160 from Thursday morning to Sat. night. This way I can get to the funeral and sit with them without having to rely on a someone.
