Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
We still had a great time! Just for the money you would expect something less seedy and a little more updated. From the outside the place looks beautiful, but from the inside - it was really bad. Bad enough that I'm sending them a letter this weekend.

That is horrible! I'm sorry it was so bad - now I'm glad I never considered it!

Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
really?? i stayed there and loved it. there's a ton of stuff for the kids to do, love the spa and the pools. some of the rooms are far to walk to the dining hall but it's still a beautiful hotel :-/ i guess it depends on what type of room you stayed in. we stayed in a 1BR suite and it was awesome

Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite and it was disgusting. The windows were rotted, the carpet must have been the original one from when the place was built and in general the room was dirty. My inlaws got a room right next to ours and theirs was just as bad but also had a sour milk smell to it. Also, the main pool was closed for renovation, which we didn't know until we arrived, so the only pool my kids had to play in was the little one by our unit. It just wasn't a good experience.

Wow, really? this surprises me considering it's a Disney owned resort. We just stayed in the Carribbean Beach resort in February and while not fancy, it was clean, nicely furnished with beautiful grounds. i didn't think Disney actually had crappy rooms. I am sorry to hear that and you should definitely say something...perhaps they might give you some comps. if you down there again.

Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
I am sorry you didn't enjoy the resort. I havent heard too many rave reviews of Saratoga Springs. I am surprised that the rooms were in such bad shape - the resort is only a few years old. Way too soon for rotted windows and worn out carpets.
I am glad the rest of your trip was fun!

I too am sorry to hear that. We recently stayed at Port Orleans which is not deluxe and it was great. A year ago we stayed at the Boardwalk which is deluxe and that was great as well. Perhaps its because it is a timeshare property? I hope your trip was good otherwise

that has nothing to do with it. the boardwalk is also a vacation club and it's not run down. i went to saratoga about 2 years ago and it wasn't run down at all. they usually have postings on the website when you book, if the pools are under construction. you can definitely complain, but you probably would've gotten something out of it if you did it while you were there. they most likely will not give you anything for free but maybe offer you like 20% off the next trip or something.

Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
did you complain while you were there? they're most likely not going to do anything for you now except give you a percentage off for your next stay. it's more effective to complain while you're there. i work at disney and a friend of mine went to port orleans riverside a few weeks ago on my discount and they found used needles in their room (diabetic) they went to the front desk and said they'd move them to a deluxe room if they paid the discounted deluxe price from me instead of paying full price. otherwise they just gave them a new room. didn't do much.

Re: My quick review of Saratoga Springs at Disney
We are vacation club members so I they are not going to reimburse us any money anyway - we used points. We actually joined at Animal Kindgom but part of this trip (3 nights worth) was a "gift" for buying more points. We used our points for the other three nights plus my mother-in-law's room.
I don't even care at this point if they don't do anything for us - I'm still writing my letter. We probably should have complained while we were there but we just sucked it up. We still had a great time - I just expected more from our room.
