Our Disney Review, Pictures and a Surprise....
Well we got home yesterday morning and are back to reality... We had fabulous weather and it only very lightly drizzled (no one pulled out umbrella or ponchos) for about 30 mins one morning and it was gorgeous the rest of the week. Here is our review with some pics and a surprise...
Thanks to all the moms for their advice on flying - Diana that book you recommended was great! We brought DD's car seat on the flight with us and she sat quietly the whole flight down (awake the whole time) and back (slept half the flight). We got many comments on how quiet and well behaved she was from all the people around us. We had no trouble bringing milk thru security for DD.
We rented a minivan from National for a great price and it was VERY helpful to have to grab groceries and not have to use the bus (we did take the monorail to MK and EPCOT though). We got a Toyota Sienna.
We stayed at the Polynesian hotel and LOVED it. We were in Roratonga - which is the building directly next to the great ceremonial house (the main building) which made it very easy to get drinks, food, hop on the monorail. It was also a short walk over to the TTC to hop on the EPCOT monorail. We never had to take DD out of the stroller as you can just wheel your stroller right on board. We came back to the hotel every day for a bit and rested and swam in the pool. DD loved the sprinklers there as well. It was great to take DD to the beach at the hotel to watch the fireworks from the MK - they even pump in the narration and music that accompany them. We also saw the Electrical Water Parade one night.
We got to the hotel about 12 and our room wasn't ready yet so we headed over to the Magic Kingdom for a bit and then had dinner at our resort.
We spent Sunday morning at Animal Kingdom and ate lunch at the Rainforest Cafe. Spent time at the resort pool and went over to EPCOT for dinner at The Coral Reef.
Monday we headed over to Hollywood Studios - which was okay - DD didn't really seem to like much that was there. We did playhouse disney (she loved the show but since you sit on the floor she was unhappy as she wanted to run up to the stage and they don't let the kids do that)
We ate dinner at Chef Mickey's - DD LOVED the characters as long as they were 2-3 feet away - but closer and she got a little shy - she would clap, point, play peekaboo with them as long as they were a little bit away from her. So pictures were a bit hard. B/c of this we cancelled our character breakfast and dinner later in the week.
Tuesday we took DD to MK and got her first haircut at the barber shop there - they did an amazing job and they cover the kids in Mickey stickers, then afterwards they get a first haircut mickey ears, certificate and some of her hair. Walking down Main street I had a surprise for DH that I will share at the end of the photos - we got the photopass people to take pictures - but I can't share them here - when I get the CD I will post them then.
We had dinner at Marrakesh and then went over to Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. DD had gotten over her fear of the characters by that afternoon and she was dancing with them in her tinkerbell costume. We had a fabulous time and I highly recommend the MNSSHP to anyone going to WDW in Sept or Oct - I can provide more details if anyone wants.
The rest of the week we spent our time divided between MK and EPCOT - which were also DD's favorite two parks.
We also ate at:
San Angel Inn (Epcot)
Ohana's (Polynesian resort)
Les Chefs de France
Crystal Palace character lunch the last day
We were on the Dining Plan (basic) and it worked great for us!
If anyone wonders where in the world Matt Lauer was on Saturday - he was dining a few tables over from us at the Crystal Palace with his children, wife and nanny.
It really is a small world btw - we ran into a friend of ours from my old job and his family no less than 3 times over the course of our trip.
I'm more than happy to answer any questions about the trip or give any tips of things that worked for us.
We preordered a disney Photopass - which allows you to put all the photos that disney takes onto one CD then you can have them printed yourself. So we have about 150 photos from character meet and greets and of our family. I can share those when we order the CD. They came out great but disney's website doesn't allow me to share them from the site.
Here are a bunch of photos from our trip in the next post - the last photo is from home - but relates to the surprise I mentioned above.

I wasn't one of the incognitos - I found out on the trip! I am due early June I think (my cycles are off) so I will be a 2 under 2 for a short time.
