My thyroid levels are up: UPDATE 7/29
I had full bloodwork done the other day when I went to the dr. for the flu. Today I found out my thyroid is out of whack again. I've been on synthroid for 5 years and thought it was regulated but I guess it changed. So I'm supposed to start my IVF in a few weeks and now I might not be able to unless I can get this under control. Honestly...can anything else happen to delay this?? There is always some kind of roadblock. I've been waiting since February to start again.
UPDATE: I saw my endocrinologist yesterday and wow, my levels are way up. My TSH is 7 now. So of course I need to get this regulated before starting my next cycle...which means more waiting. I won't be starting in July like I thought.
UPDATE 7/29: I've been on my new dose of synthroid since 7/2. I had bloodwork done on 7/17 and my TSH was down to 2.13. It took me two weeks to get the results since I was on vacation and also my endo was very bad at getting back to me. I am supposed to start my estrogen patches 10 days after I get the + on the OPK. I got the today so I should be starting on 8/8. Endo emails me today saying she wants the TSH to be closer to 1.0. Anyone know what their TSH is/was when doing IVF?? If I go for more blood and it comes back at 1.0 should I start in 10 days or wait another month to be sure? I am seriously going nuts waiting over here but I know that I need to make sure everything is OK. Should I ask my RE about my TSH? Right now I hate to even deal with my endo because I feel like I'm bothering her.

Re: My thyroid levels are up
As frustrating as it is to hear there is yet ANOTHER thing in your way, it is good that it was caught before you started your cycle. I know you want to go into it with every possible road block eliminated. Hang in there, even though it's tough!

Re: My thyroid levels are up
I am sorry. But...you may not have to wait too long. Dr. B found out that my thyroid was acting up too (TSH was 4.6) and he put me on 75 mcg of synthroid and it was regulated within 2 weeks. I never had to skip a cycle. Hope it is a quick fix for you as well.

Can you believe my endo's office called and wanted to give me an appt on 7/14 to try and fix this?? I mean I had the bloodwork done already, she can't just change the dose? I asked them to have her call me. I also put a call in to my RE. My TSH is 5.7 which is the highest its ever been. I am glad this was caught before starting though.

I would call your RE and ask him about that number. It should be fine. They like to see anything under 4 and with IVF usually under 2, so you are pretty close.

I'm going to call him today because my endo apparently is too busy to help me with this. Also I bet the # went down since the bloodwork was done 13 days ago.. Thanks.

I know...I don't know why I always feel like I'm bothering the doctor. I just want to go for another blood test before starting my cycle...just to be sure. I feel like my endocrinologist doesn't understand the urgency of the situation.

Re: My thyroid levels are up: UPDATE 7/29
Karen...I know they like the TSH level to be between 1 and 2 while TTC. Mine was 4.6 at first and they said that was way too high (and may have been the cause of some of my miscarriages) I have been on 75 mcg of synthroid since May and it was checked right before I started my IVF cycle and it was 1.6. My endo was happy with that. I go back next week to have it rechecked.
I agree with the others, I know you don't want to be a pest, but you need some answers.

Thanks. I sent an email to my RE today asking if he can help me with this since my regular endocrinologist is not much help lately. I just want to start already! I've been waiting patiently since my last BFN in February!!!
