My totally bizarre and irrational fear...

I am due in 2 months and I plan on BF'ing. I've heard that your period can be delayed while you BF. But one of my biggest and stupidest fears is that it will just come on all of a sudden while I'm at work with no warning.

So give it to me straight. Your first PP period...was it a shock or did you have a clue (ie cramps, the usual) that it was coming?

I pumped for 3 weeks and got AF 9 weeks pp. I think I had light cramps. The period was like any other, no more, no less then normal.

I had no clue it was coming. I was 7 months PP. It was really light and not bad at all. I was actually surprised about that. The 2nd one was awful though.

I get cramps 1-2 days prior normally. It happened the same way. Cramped at 5.5 months and knew it was coming just like regular times.

I'm 9 weeks PP and still no AF (I pumped for 6 weeks but never got a milk supply) but I'm still bleeding very lightly and have been almost every day since DD was born. I just wear liners every day. I expect it to just get heavier once it's actually my "real" period. Then I'll switch to heavier protection. I can't imagine it suddenly gushing like your water breaking or something! I'm sure you'd have time to go to the bathroom and put in protection!

I didn't breast feed but my first PP period started with a few days of light spotting- on and off.
Then it came on full force and VERY heavy.
But there was a warning- the spotting.

DS was FF but for my first AF PP i had bad cramping fr a few days prior

I BF and I didn't get mine until 6 months pp, once she was on solids, that beeyotch came back. However, it didn't come on as a surprise, I could feel it brewing for a few days.

I bf for 6months and 3 days after I stopped AF came....I could tell something was happening but I was NOT prepared for it.....It was the worst period OF MY LIFE. The cramps and bleeding were unreal. The next one was still rough but by the 3rd it was normal.

7 months pp and still no AF. I've been feeling she's on her way though.

I got Mirena at 6 mo pp and stopped BFing a few days later. They say that you don't always get a period on Mirena and I'm 8 mo pp and I still haven't gotten one. I have to say, it's been really nice!

I knew it was coming--10 months PP.

I totally have the same fear. I am 8 months PP and no AF yet.

About 5 months PP, I was BFign for 3-4 months. It was spotting at first, thats how i knew it was coming.

After the spotting,,, WHEEEEW, Full force!!!!!!!! LIterally over 10+ days of heavy bleeding, I thought I would die. It was horrible.

I got my first PP period when my son was 11 months, then with my daughter when she was 8 months.

I got ligt cramps both times so I knew they were coming.

My sister, who is EBFing, just went through the same thing. She got light cramps and got her first PP period a few days after. I remember her calling me and complaining that my nephew is only 7 months old and already she feels like her period is coming!
