Mystic or Cape Cod for your family vacation?
Dh and I have been to neither, and we are traveling in the car with DD who is 13 months today. Looking at going next week. ANY FAMILY PLACES in either Mystic or the Cape? Where in Cape Cod do I go that is family oriented? thanks so much!!
I know about Mystic and heard it is beautiful same with Cape Cod...if you can help me decide and I am booking one or the other TONIGHT!

We just got back from Cape Cod, but we stopped in Mystic for a few hours on the way there. We went to the Aquarium (so fun!) and then drove to downtown Mystic and had lunch.
In Cape Cod, we stayed at the Green Harbor Resort, in a cottage for two. All of the rooms have either full sized kitchens or kitchenettes. They have a heated pool and a beach and playground on the bay. Definitely all families at this resort. They also have lots of BBQ grills around to grill dinner, which lots of people did. I loved this place, and will definitely go back, but probably stay in a larger cottage.
We took Jacob everywhere we went - Martha's Vineyard to walk around the Gingerbread Cottages, Hyannis to the JFK museum - there was also a carousel right on Main Street. We also walked to the port to see the ships.

Mystic is fun but really theres not much to do for more then 2 days. ....I would do a weekend at Mystic but if its longer, Cape Cod.
In Mystic we stayed at the Hyatt Place. VERY recommended....Lots of good reviews on here, Super large clean rooms in the middle of everything. You can do Old Mystik Village ( shopping), The Seaport and the aquarium.
