Nails salons that use LED instead of UV light
I just started getting gel fill ins. I used to get silk wraps but this seems to be mostly what my salon is doing now. I am a terrible nail biter. I tried to do just manicures, but eventually I bite my nails. Everytime I turn around, there is something on the news about gel manicures and fill ins. First they talk of scraping the nail to get the polish off and the damage it does, then the UV light. They said to look for a salon that uses LED light. I think Dr. Oz had it on and on his search in NYC, he found very little salons had LED light. Does anyone know if any salons exist on LI that use the LED light? I put sunscreen on my hands before I go, but just don't like the whole idea of the UV light.

It's definitely not a good idea. Do they have old fashioned dryers anymore? That blow air?
My mom's friend got melanoma on her cuticle bed, and died. I am sure it was from the UV light at the nail salon. I would never use that.'

I get silk wraps. The owner of one salon told me that they will always have silk because that is what they use to repair a natural nail that breaks.

This is what I used to get. I went back to my old place and everything was gel, gel, gel. They push it so much. Can I ask where you go? I am in Suffolk.
