I prefer mat shadows so I have yet to find an UD set beyond basics that would work for me. Since I already have other neutral mat palettes I skipped it, but I know that they have a lot of fans on here and elsewhere.
I only have the Basics one too because I prefer matte. And I have the Too Faced ones that have a little shimmer if I need/want to mix it in.

Try the Too Faced palates - they come with little cards that tell you which colors to apply and where to achieve certain looks.
I feel like whenever I apply eye shadow all the colors just run together into one big blob of a mess.
Like one, nondescript color.
Hence why I don't even bother.

I used to feel that way too. But with all these different options coming out I decided to try this palate simply because it had the cards. It took some practice (and a little help from a friend). I also swear by Urban Decay primer potion. Keeps the color on and helps it all from running together too.
