Crabby Dan's in Garden City. DH and I loved this place, they had the best clams and shrimp francaise I have ever had. We went to the one in Glen head, but it wasn't the same!!

These both exist here still, of course there is only one of each and you have to travel for them, but there is a Roys on William Floyd Parkway and an Arby's in Queens off the expressway!!

I dont know if I have the right name but it was Gurneys on jericho turnpike in mineola I think its now jonathons- it was the restaurant next to what I think was a merrygoround-

DH and I LOVE Denny's. Actually traveled to Connecticuit just for breakfast! He just got a gift certificate to Denny's from his sister last month. She bought it when she was in Vegas, since she knows we love it. So now we get to travel to Connecticut again for breakfast. I love their hashbrowns!!!!

i just relocated here and miss alot of places from back home that we dont have on LI, Denny's, cracker barrel, dairy queen
Are you from Albany? Because we have all of those here. LOL We just moved here and we are hating it! We have gone to all those restaurants though!
I actually miss the restaurants in LI. :(

It would have to be Jahn's in Brooklyn. The best ice cream I ever had.
I dont even know why they went out of business, it was always crowded.

Yep...both a little too far for me! LOL I miss being close to them! I also miss the "old" Ground Round. We still go to the in Northport though, no more cartoons, no more popcorn.
Food is still pretty good.

There's a Jahn's on Myrtle Ave. I wonder if it's the same owners VERY good ice cream, they have what's called a "kitchen sink". You can feed like 10 kids from this one big gigantor "sink".  Not too sanitary, but kids love it, DH went to birthday parties there as a kid.

Yes i know there is the one in Patchogue but the one in Hauppauge was sooo much better
Ground Round where you got peanuts and popcorn and could throw the peanut shells on the floor
And snoopy gave you a cheesy gift
I agree i miss them too! also arbys

they DID reopen, well different location (not sure but i am assuming the same owners). the "new" viva juan is next to the thatched cottage and the mill pond in centerport on 25A.
i heard that the owners of blue honu bought the old viva juan and are going to open a tex mex restaurant. plans might have changed as there hasn't been any work done since the fire.

Gum Ying in West Hempstead... its now a CVS!!! They were the best Chinese restaurant... a real restaurant, not a take-out place.
