Re: Name a stupid, tiny, ridiculous pet peeve
When people are talking and every sentence they are saying "you know what I am saying". That really irks because I do not know what the heck you are saying.

Re: Name a stupid, tiny, ridiculous pet peeve
I put this in the other pet peeve post the other day, but when people try to talk while coughing or when there is that raspy phlegmy thing going on.
Stop, cough, and THEN talk to me.
Oh and when people don't know the difference between your and you're and there, their and they're. It's not that hard!!

Re: Name a stupid, tiny, ridiculous pet peeve
My strange pet peeve (it's almost like a disorder at this point) are shopping carts left in the parking lot (especially when there is a cart area just a few feet away). It don't know why it bugs me so much, it drives me up a wall!

Barb misspellings and grammatical errors are my pet peeve too. I work for a "prestigious" organization and there are errors on our webiste. At my old job they had signs hanging up that were grammatically incorrect

when people pronounce the "T" in the word OFTEN. (THE T IS SILENT!)
when people say "i dont feel good" (its "i dont feel WELL")
I know what you mean about pronouncing silent letters! But it got me thinking about the word you used: 'often'. In my head both ways sounded correct, so I looked it up:
During the 15th century English experienced a widespread loss of certain consonant sounds within consonant clusters, as the (d) in handsome and handkerchief, the (p) in consumption and raspberry, and the (t) in chestnut and often. In this way the consonant clusters were simplified and made easier to articulate. With the rise of public education and literacy and, consequently, people's awareness of spelling in the 19th century, sounds that had become silent sometimes were restored, as is the case with the t in often, which is now frequently pronounced. In other similar words, such as soften and listen, the t generally remains silent.

I hate it when someone falls asleep on my sofa.
I don't know why but this has been a pet peeve of mine since I was a teen.
My husband does it all the time and man it works my nerve. Just go to bed!!!
UGH that bothers me too - I have no idea why.
I also hate when people are constantly late to work. I understand once in a while but I sit next to a guy who comes in everyday around 9:30-9:45. My boss is too clueless to notice so I guess its not that big of a deal. But it just bothers me!!!!!!

Re: Name a stupid, tiny, ridiculous pet peeve
When people use "good" instead of "well" and when I hear my co-worker on the phone saying "I'll meet you at your job" rather than "your office." Job sounds like a part-time job I had in HS. I don't know why it irks me so much!

Re: Name a stupid, tiny, ridiculous pet peeve
I must be very intolerant because I agree with all of these - snapping gum, loud ipods, shopping carts left in the lot, bad drivers, grammatical errors (esp. when people use I instead of me -- "They gave the gift to DH and I" ) and oh yeah crazy conservatives!!

When my husband will put a dirty dish in the sink instead of the dishwasher. The sink is even further away so he's making life even harder on himself. Ridiculous, yes...but oh so annoying.
