Re: Nashville trip...any recommendations!?!?!
It has changed a great deal since I lived there...I lived there for 6 years as a child.
Are you bringing your kids? If so there is a cute childrens museum - The adventure science center
http://www.adventuresci.com/
What kind of things do you like to do?
If you like old homes or museums
There is the hermitage (President Andrew Jackson's home)
Cheekwood - art and gardens - http://www.cheekwood.org/
Belle Meade Plantation's http://www.bellemeadeplantation.com/
There are several museums like the frist Center for the visual arts etc.
If you like country music there are tons of touristy things to see and do... There are country music museums, grand ole opry museum etc.

You must go to the Opryland Hotel. Its beautiful inside and there are many things to do there, including some excellent resturants.

I was just going to suggest the Opryland Hotel. It really is not to be missed. There is also another hotel that has these ducks that swim in their fountain. It is sort of cute. There is also Opryland and that is nice as well. If there was one thing to do it is absolutely the Opryland Hotel.

I will be going without the kids and about 10-12 of us "30-somethings" for a friend's wedding! Definitely looking for all of the above! Looking for day touristy things and then nightlife too - good eats and drinks after!
Thanks so much!

If you go downtown at night, it's not a huge area, but there's a bunch of bars/blues clubs/live music/night spots and restaurants down on Second Ave. near Broadway that you could check out. We were there a few years ago and had a good time!

We were there a few years ago and had a good time! For nightlife in Nashville you can't beat the Broadway area. It's a lot of fun even if you hate country music. You can just bar hop and check out a bunch of different places. The most famous places for live music (at least when I was there a few years ago) are Tootsies and the Stage.
