I liked it, its 5 miles of walking, so it was a full day. with the membership for like 60.00, its a year free admission for the fam including the columbia zoo which I heard is very kid friendly.
Yes, I heard it's big. $60 is not bad at all. If it stays warm, maybe we'll go soon. Otherwise we'll wait until next year when our little  arrives.
I have two free passes to the zoo that we got from DH's job...I think we have a year to use them. We still haven't gone there...I heard its nice, just a TON of walking

wow! That is awesome! I wanted to do that but With 3 dogs I wish we could have a real tree..so Instead we spent a few buck and got a really nice fake tree...its looks real

I love Boone!! We went up to Grandfather mountian one day and stopped off down there.

I am writing all these places down, so I can check them out. I just hope I do not right Boone, cattle crossing, the zoo or slippery when wet for essay answers on my final. I memorized the DMV handbook and vocabulary for Business Law on the same day. 
A tort is defined as Lowe's supermarkets cattle crossing. It is where you cut down your own tree at the zoo in South Park. The fine is a year in jail, when you cut down your own tree and see a deer crossing sign.

Hi Guys!!! I'm finally here....a huge snow and ice storm held us up overnight in PA. But we just arrived today at 4pm, and I am sitting here in my bedroom in CHARLOTTE. Thank God the cable guy came tonight and hooked us up. Tomorrow I do a walk through my house!! Wow I just can't believe I am here...that I actually live here now. Anyway, about the gtg..I am definitely in. Wherever everyone decides..I can carpool with Emily my new BFF  . Can't wait to meet everyone.

I am dreading the DMV situation. I am holding out as long as I can for that ordeal with the test and registering the car..UUgghh. If you have a leased car what do you need to do?

I have a leased car and from what I was told you need a copy of the title (I did not have that, so had to contact Jeep for it)
Once you get that you get your license, have your insurance, then you can register. There is a highway tax of like $150. Plus your car company will be billed a personal property tax, and the company will then pay and bill you that tax. (that is what Jeep told me anyway).
After that I think you have 30 days to inspect the car in NC.
Once the car is registerd you will need to mail your NY plates back and then finally the insurance can be rated for NC.

Yes, READ that book! I barely glanced at it, thinking that I've been driving for 20 years and KNOW how to drive, you know? They asked what to do if you're behind a tractor (ummm, ??? start cursing that you're behind a tractor? Go around them, giving them a dirty look as you pass? LOL), what percentage of drunk drivers are there, etc. I barely passed!

I completely agree - memorize that book and you'll be ok. Not to freak anyone out, but I've known A LOT of oos people who have failed...it asks very specific questions but all the answers are in that book. Good luck!
ETA - Know about drunk driving laws - what happens on your first DUI, second DUI, etc. I'm not sure that is in this handbook, but there is always a question on it. Also, Ch. 5 of the handbook - the street signs - you will have to take a verbal test (w/ the DMV rep) and look at pics of these signs and tell them what each one stands for. Most are easy, but I got stuck on some of the more obscure ones!

but I got stuck on some of the more obscure ones!
There was a totally obscure one on the street sign part of the test. the instructor gave me the answer and I responded with "oh we don't have that sign in NY ". I forget what the sign was now but I had never seen it before then

Leo took it a day before me, told me exactly what to study
I had no idea if you are tired while driving to just pull over anywhere. To think of all the fun I had in parked cars, I could have just pulled off the road instead of looking for a discret location
my score would have been perfect, except for that one.
