Need a bit of reassurance please...(WW-related)
So this is my first week back on WW after a lengthy break. I have done so well this week, earned 18 activity points even during a busy week and saved ALL my extra weekly allowance points. (plus I feel great!) I'm home visiting my family this weekend which means many meals out. I'm still trying to be good but also want to indulge in some faves from home restaurants. So today I will have had (after dinner and dessert which is already planned) 41 points. That is my usual 29 plus 11 weekly points, which still leaves me with 30+ weekly allowance and my week ends tomorrow. Is that terrible? Did I mess up my chances of losing this week? I think I just need some reassurance from those in the know with how WW works! Thanks!

You're supposed to use your weekly points!!! You're supposed to induldge a little. If you don't you'll end up feeling deprived and OVER indulge later on (I've done it before).
If your week ends and you're weighing in tomorrow though, just make sure you know, your indulgences from today could show up on the scale tomorrow. That doesn't mean you didn't lose- it could just be water weight from tonight's meal. Sometimes the scale doesn't always accurately reflect your hardwork. That doesn't mean you didn't lose. There are natural fluctuations in weight (my weight ranges a good 5lbs any day of the week!)
Just keep doing what you're doing. You'll be fine!

I knew you'd answer, Colleen! I did think of that and may weigh in Monday instead since I'm at home now and its a different scale (and like one of the old school dr's office ones, not like the digital one I have!) But thank you for the reassurance!

Colleen said everything I would've said. Remember, WW wouldn't give you those points if you couldn't use them, and most people who get to goal and lifetime use some if not all of their weekly PP allowance on a regular basis.

When I did ww last year, I always used my extra points. Think about it this way, would you really go through the rest of your life just using 29 points? Just not feasible and you will feel deprived. I've even gone over on the weekly extra points and still lost weight. Don't worry, it's not as if you eat 40 points extra every day of the week!!

Re: Need a bit of reassurance please...(WW-related)
The way I see it is that using those extra weekly points is what is the deal breaker from seeing it as a life change or a diet. Like, knowing that you can go out to dinner one night and have a regular meal with everyone else and not feel like you're dieting, but be within your points all the other days is just living life, not dieting! Dieting would be depriving yourself and NOT using those points and having a dry, boring salad at dinner while everyone enjoyed a great meal. I would ditch a plan like that. To me WW is so great because it really does make you change your lifestyle. So now instead of eating big, rich meals every night, I have one a week and I don't feel deprived and I'm still losing weight
