Need a cheap dish to bring to a party
I have a BBQ to go to on Saturday and everyone is bringing something. There seems to be a couple of different pasta dishes, a sausage and pepper dish, lots of salads, and there will be Heros and some grilling. Dessert seems to be covered too. What can I bring that wont be too expensive to make for 20 people?

You could do a spinach dip - I get the Knoor packet and follow the instructions on the back (though I omit the water chestnuts and cut way back on the mayo)...serve it in a hollowed-out pumpernickel loaf and bring some crackers and celery/carrot sticks.

I would go old school and bring deviled eggs. I bring them to BBQ's and the one thing I always here is that people love them and no one ever makes them anymore. Just plate it on a chiller plate and they'll be good all day.

Re: Need a cheap dish to bring to a party
What's for dessert? I'd bake a pan of brownies and buy a gallon on Eddies vanilla icecream Brownie a la mode..
ETA: I clearly didn't read your post.. but I'd still go for the brownie and icecream combo Can't have too much dessert

my coworker swears by bacon roll ups... basically all you need is white bread, cream cheese, and bacon. http://allrecipes.com/recipe/bacon-roll-ups-ii/

Re: Need a cheap dish to bring to a party
Thanks everyone for the suggestions, but I think I might make pulled pork and buy rolls for everyone to make sandwiches. I've never made it before and would love a great recipe if anyone is willing to share. Crock pot recipes for this would work too! Thanks!!

I always bring a cucumber salad in the summer which gets rave reviews every time. Google Spago Cucumber Salad. It has an Asian taste and is delicious.
