Re: Need a nice restaurant recommendation for tonight PLEASE =)
There is also Canterbury Ales which is like an English Pub. If you look up anything online and have a question about it - send it over. I live there so I'm pretty familar with all the restaurants.

How about the Irish Coffee Pub in East Islip, Bayberry Cafe on Main Street in Islip (I LOVE LOVE LOVE the food there and it's where DH and I had our first date ), Tellers in Islip, or Gatbsy in Islip?
never actually been to a restaurant in Islip will check them all now thanks Beth
I used the live there, but it is a food mecca! Seriously, some great restaurants there, and not too far at all.
Here's the Bayberry menu. I recommend the chicken francaise or chicken parm!

try the Jon Thomas Inn in Bay Shore...it's a regular kind of place, nothing too fancy. Amazing food...steak, pork chops, onion soup...just a great place!

THe Blue Room is on Larkfield is just north of the rockabilly barber across from the firehouse ...
it's american food prepared a little fancy (like they have fried chicken which was delicious but it came with cheesey grits and escarole or something) but also have burgers. The fried calamari was really good too. Not cheap but not ridiculously expensive (I think our total was a little over $100 and we got a $25-30 bottle of wine, an app, two dinners, the smores and coffee).

Re: Need a nice restaurant recommendation for tonight PLEASE =)
we went to 105 Harbor
I had my usual favorite, tuscan chicken, and Rich had some pasta w/ shrimp (yeah, he likes shrimp, but NOTHING else from the ocean.)
It was good, and I'm definitely saving this thread for future suggestions!!!
I don't know why he made such a big deal out of today - I mean, it was just an engagement anniversary.....
He came home w/ a dozen pink roses, and even GAVE ME A NEW RING at dinner!!!
It's pretty- a round blue topaz solitaire, with a ring of diamonds around it. Blue topaz isn't even my birthstone - I just love all things blue.
He's in the shower...I shall be gone soon
