I would get something from Tiffany's. They have beautiful crystal bowls in that price range.
I think that's exactly what I'll do.

I was given a really unique salad set made from granite - it is actually one of my favorite things and I use it all the time. I have no idea where the person found it, but maybe you could find a unique kitchen item or serving set.
