need a quick vent
I know a lot of people don't understand why this irks me... but it bothers me that one of my co-workers (who has only been w/ the company 6mos) expects all of the same benefits of someone working at this company for 2-3 years.
A friend I work with has been with the company for awhile now and needs to take some time off (but keeping up with things by working from home). There is a new person in the office that found out about this and is now trying to get "work from home days" even though this was done more as a favor to the person here forever. There's more to the situation surrounding this, but for some reason I feel that its ok to work things out once an employee has put in his or her time(there's a relationship and trust there). When someone is in the office less than a year, I still consider it a "trial" period, a time to prove yourself before asking the boss for favors.
just needed to vent and get that off my chest. PLEASE DONT QUOTE

Re: need a quick vent
I agree with you. I see that quite often at places I worked. I am one that wishes I can do what my coworkers who been there for years do but I can't. I know there had to been a reason why your coworker had asked for a leave with work at home options not just to work from home. The new person has to realize there are reasons behind everything and only being there for a few months doesn't qualify her to do what everyone else does. She will probably get told no so I would not worry about it. Here are some .
