Okay...quick vent about my co-workers...
I need to get this out or I'm going to punch someone here.
WHY do they make such a big deal about me going to daycare at lunch?
It's MY lunch hour. My baby is across the street. I want to see him. It allows me more work/life balance.
But EVERY DAY for the past 3 weeks I get some semblance of the following comments. Feel free to pick your favorite:
"Oh, THAT will stop in a few weeks." As if I will suddenly stop missing my son.
"You are just bothering the workers." First, I'm taking a child off of their hands for an hour so I can't imagine they mind and second, I pay them - not the other way around.
"You should have been a stay at home mom." Because I want to see my kid? Does it have to be all or nothing?
Or I get treated like a little kid "Aw, that's so CUTE." said in a condescending way.
Just shut-up. I don't comment on where YOU go on YOUR lunch hour.
Next time you tell me you are going to Pizza Hut I'm going to say "Looks like someone doesn't care about their love handles."

I think most of it is JEALOUSY! Don't let it bother you. All that matters is you get to spend an extra hour a day with your son.

They're idiots. If you were my co-worker, I'd be telling you how jealous I was.
As for the "it will stop in a few weeks", say "that's about the same time that people put their babies up for adoption, right?"
Just wait - one day , you'll go out to lunch with a friend & you can look forward to everyone saying "Told you it wouldn't last."

I wish I could have my child so close to me when I go back to work. Go visit everytime you get a break if you want. When they pay for you to be a SAHM or pay for your childcare they can make comments. Tell them to stuff it next time!

See now I would be a real Beeyoch. IF they made one more comment, when I got back from visiting my DC I would say...
I just had THE BEST lunch hour. We had a picnic outside and my son gave me the biggest hug and kiss when I dropped him off at the daycare after lunch. Tomorrow we are going to the park and if it rains, McDonald's. Then I would smile and ask them what THEY did for lunch?
I think they are jealous and this will make the fume even more. Kill 'em with kindness and flaunt the fact that you get to see your DS everyday. Good for you! I think it is awesome that you visit him.
