Check with your bank. Also if you contribute to the 401K sometimes the plans have Financial Advisors that they can refer you to.

I used to work for a financial firm. I could give you a recommendation if you are interested. I used to work for Wachovia. It was located in Southampton but many of the advisors will travel to meet you. FM if interested!

One word of advice - try to work with someone who charges a flat fee, not a percentage of your investments. Just my honest opinion.

I agree with this. Also I suggest that you interview several planners/ advisor and work with the one that you feel most comfortable and trust.
Remember, however the planner sets themselves up...(fee or commisision) they are running a business and need to make money. Find somebody you can trust and allows you the flexibility to always move on if things dont work out
