Need advice / thoughts about introducing whole milk to son who is EBF
I am just thinking ahead to when he turns 11 months. I want to introduce whole milk when I am at work. During the work week, he gets two pumped bottles of BM.
Would I mix BM with whole milk to introduce or go cold turkey? I just want to start with whole milk during those feedings. I plan to BF the first feeding and last feeding until the summer. I work in a school and want to stop BF by the end of June and have him completely on whole milk by that time.
He loves yogurt and cheese so I am hoping the transition is easy! Any thoughts/advice is greatly appreciated!

We just went cold turkey. I have a HUGE word of advice though to help you cut down on the number of transitions.
Rather than give the milk in a bottle, introduce it in a sippy.

Qusetion about sippy cups...I have been "introducing" sippy cups for awhile now. I fill it with water and leave it on high highchair just so DS gets used to it. He seems to just chew on it, spill water on himself, and throw it on the floor
I feel like he just doesn't get it. I know it comes in time but how do you get them used to drinking milk out of a sippy cup?

DS loved yogurt and cheese too, but had a hard time transitioning to cow's milk. I never mixed it with BM b/c I wanted to give up the pump. DS had no issues drinking water out of a sippy cup, but would spit milk out if I put it in there. He eventually started drinking warm whole milk in a bottle. It took a month before he started drinking the milk in a sippy cup. He still prefers it warm, but at least he's off of bottles.

You're doing exactly the right thing. Eventually they just "get it". Whole milk is quite a bit tastier than water, so it might sweetn the deal for your LO to take to it more.

This was my issue - I just decided to give her the milk in a bottle - I am going it 1 battle at a time :) I do give her water in a sippy, but milk in a bottle. Do what you feel comfortable with!
