help with introducing milk
My dd is 12 months old and i got the go ahead to start milk. I EBF her. Over the past 2 months have been introducing bottles and sippies, getting ready for weaning and to have a smooth transition to milk. I gave her a bottle with it and after a few sips threw it down. Is this something common with breast fed babies? I don't pump so I can't mix the two? Maybe it was because I gave it to her cold? i would appreciate any tips!

Re: help with introducing milk
I didn't BF, but I would skip the bottle and give it to her in a sippy cup, why introduce a bottle and have to break that habit?
Also, just remember, milk is a drink, it is not their main source of nutrition, just let her get used to it

Re: help with introducing milk
No advice, but I will be doing this in a few weeks. DD doesn't take a bottle either but she will sip from her sippy cup with water. Little by little she is drinking a little more, so Im thinking it just takes a little time to get used to.
I would try warming it a little and try at different times during the day. DD is not the best eater or drinker when she is tired.

that is how my dd is. she likes sippies and bottles, but she isn't finishing all i am putting in them. she has a cold/cough right now so i will try again in a few days and this time i will warm it first

Re: help with introducing milk
we'll be starting this soon (in about a month or so). I guess we'll try in the sippy and see how it goes. Can't wait!!

You might just need to try over and over again until she gets it. I gave formula to DS at six months and it took two full months for him to drink it all and like it.
