Need advice for 2nd failed IVF consult- help please

So my second IVF failed. BETA was a 5. Meeting with my RE on Saturday to discuss what happened and next steps. I have 2 frozen embryos from this cycle. He asked if I wanted to do a FET- I said IDK we need to talk first.

Our diagnosis is unexplained. We are 32 and healthy. I need some answers.

Any advice on what I should ask at our follow up? I plan to ask about additional testing. I already had HSG and Saline sono and standard BW.

What do you think my next step should be?

Would you recommend immune testing before FET? If so with who? I have GHI.

Do you think I should get second opinions before this FET or wait in case I need another fresh cycle? If so who do you recommend that thinks outside the box and is good with unexplained patients? It doesn't see like there are many REs who think outside of the box in LI and who take GHI.

I'm at the point where we are running out of options and I don't wanna just do the FET to do it and it fails again bc we don't know what the issue is.

ANy other advice please give it!

I would definitely have the immune testing done before doing the FET. Just to keep all your options open. You don't want these to fail and then find out later on you have immune issues and could've been treated for them prior to the FET. This was my feeling after my first cycle failed. I feel better now knowing that I DON'T have any immune issues but didn't want to leave that possibility lingering. I believe Braverman takes GHI out of network. Good luck!

I know its super hard but it might be worthwhile to make an appt with SIRM. They are in the city but they take GHI and they test for immune issues. At least if you have the workup done you will know if you have an immune issue or not. It can be a wait of 2 months to get an appt so I dont know how eager you are to do the FET or not.

I'm so sorry it didn't work out I agree with the other ladies, if it were me, before I went ahead with the FET i would want to know if there were any immune issues. The only ones I know of are SIRM (takes GHI but I hear they have late monitoring hours) and Braverman... I know GHI does let you go out of network and reimburses you after you meet a deductable (I had this happen to me once when I ended up going to a doctor that I thought was in network, but wasn't.).. I would just find out from Braverman if he accepts GHI out of network benefits. Good luck!!!

I would get a second opinion DEFINITELY. We had to put our journey on hold for 12 months due to the need to travel for our next round of IVF, but it was well worth the wait.

Definitely get a second opinion. I had a natural chemical in February then did IVF in March and that resulted in a chemical. Had one left for a FET and I REGRET so bad not waiting and getting immune testing. We put it back and I got pregnant and had a m/c at almost 7 weeks. I definitely would get some immune testing first.

Thanks ladies. Meeting with my RE tomorrow. I don't think he will be all for the immune testing but I don't want to jump into the FET without knowing what our issue is. I emailed Braverman. I got a message that he will get back to me in 24-48 hrs. I really would like to go to SIRM but that would be impossible since I have work at 8am and I am a teacher. I already took off 3 days this school year for IF and its only October. Going in late to work is not an option. I'm thinking if my FET doesn't work then I would just have to wait until the summer and do a fresh cycle with them. Do you think its a bad idea to wait another lets say 7 months after I had the FET to do a fresh cycle? I will be 33 by then. What about going to Kofinas just for the testing?

Does having a chemical change anything in the IF world? My 6IUIs and 1st IVF were BFN. Does having a chemical give me hope that I can get preg?

I'm at a loss as to what to do here.I wanna do everything in my power to give these 2 frozen little embryos the best chance.
