Need Birthday party date help!!
My DS 8th birthday is Nov 23. It will be at a indoor mini golf place.
Since his birthday falls very close to Thanksgiving I am wondering what day I should do it.
I can do it on Tuesday the 23. His school has a early dismissal that day. Around 12. I would do the party later in the evening. Around 5pm.
Or I can do it on Wednesday the 24th. The kids are off from school but Thanksgiving is the next day. I would do that party sometime in the afternoon. Around 1pm.
The other days I can do it on is the Saturday after Thanksgiving or even do it the Saturday before holiday week.
I would like to do it on the early dismissal day but I am wondering if maybe most will be leaving for the holiday that day.
What do you all suggest? Thanks

I would do it on the 20th. My ds's birthday is Nov 20th and we always have done his party the Saturday before Thanksgiving. Too many people travel to do it any closer than that.

My husband is 11/23 also! We always do his bday the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Crashing, my DS is 11/23 too and I was thinking that I will probably do parties the weekend before for the rest of his life (he isn't even 1 yet) for this very reason
Truth be told-we usually travel for Thanksgiving so we won't even be here for his birthday or the weekend after

I would do it any of those days except for the day before Thanksgiving...
Lots of people either have to prepare/shop or get ready to go out of town

Thanks guys for the opinions. I am leaning toward the Saturday before but DH thinks it would ok to do it on the half day (he wants to get the week day discount  ) still not sure.
It was so easy when he was younger and not in school. We would do it the weekend after Thanksgiving. I knew all the family could make it since we were all in the same place anyway lol. But now that he is in school and has so many friends its harder. I want to be sure to get the invites early which is why I am trying to book early.

I would do it on the half day. Here's the reasoning:
1) You get the week day discount.
2) It's not interfering with Thanksgiving cooking issues.
3) Working parents can still bring their kids, since you're doing it in the evening.

I was also thinking the 20th as well. Any of the other choices are bound to have some guests who cannot make it due to the holiday.

I would do the weekend before but the best thing to do would be to poll some of the moms in your class.
I'd love the half day but I wouldn't be able to drive my kids to the party because I'd be working. (They have aftercare programs)
