Need decorating advice (with pics)
Clueless strikes again!
First thing...I bought thermal curtains. We have a huge sliding glass door...since the panels are somewhere like 44 inches wide, my mom suggested I get 4 panels! I bought them but now I think I don't want to cover my entire sliding glass door and let it be sooo dark all day long. I also don't want to have to push heavy curtains out of the way.
I was thinking of getting sheers for the middle- what do you think? Is that even necessary? Should I keep it just as is with the 2 panels or does this look 'wrong'?
This is the door with the sliding honeycomb shade going across. This is how the door looks most of the day- we don't normally keep the shade open.
This is the door with the shade open
As you can see we have one curtain rod. Aren't sheers supposed to be hung behind panels on another rod or is that not a hard and fast rule?
And here's a bedroom question- I'm not too motivated to paint the walls But would this color combo drive you crazy? during the day
at night
Thanks for helping a clueless homemaker!

Re: Need decorating advice (with pics)
I would get the four panels.....two just looks weird and looks 1/2 finished....all you need to purchase are little hooks on each side and pretty rope that matches your curtains (bed bath and beyond had a bunch) and draw the curtains when you want sunlight coming in!

Thanks, I agree about the unfinished look. What do you think about two panels of sheers rather than adding 2 more panels of the curtains? My only thing about the sheers is, when the shade is closed, it might kind of kill the look of the sheers.
TIA

Re: Need decorating advice (with pics)
We have a sliding door in our kitchen and we have four panels. During the day, I use tie backs. It's not a pain at all.
You could put sheers up, but it might be a little overkill since you have honeycombs as well. Normally they are hung behind panels on a different rod, but you could put them on the same one if you wanted to. You should be able to find a double rod conversion kit.
As far as your bedroom goes (BTW - the furniture looks really nice - is that the set from Raymour?). It wouldn't drive me crazy only bc no one ever goes into my bedroom. We moved into our house last May and we painted everything except our Master Bedroom bc we don't have MB furniture (and still don't). I currently hate the color it is (my room - not yours! ), but I am sticking it out for a few more months until we get furniture and then everything will coordinate.

Re: Need decorating advice (with pics)
i would leave the panels as is (no sheers).
in re: to the bdrm, i like the colors (walls, bamboo/woven shades and furniture) but not a fan of the bedding. too monochromatic and shiny. i would opt for something more light and airy. perhaps a solid khaki/tan (tie in the rug color) duvet with ivory or white (tie in molding) pillows and sheets.
also, what about adding privacy shades behind the woven? you can leave up during the day but down at night for added privacy.
i know you didn't ask but i would move the tv to either the middle of the dresser or onto the tall dresser in the corner.

thing is, I feel bad about changing the bedding since we just got it for our wedding...I picked that out before we even had this house! So it's either paint the room or buy new bedding! We're lazy so I guess it's buy new bedding one of these days.

Yes, that's the set from Raymour. Thanks so much for your help!! Seeing the pic of your door really helps!

i bought my khaki/tan duvet at target and ivory sheets at marshalls. inexpensive but really good quality.
here is the duvet and sham. color would be perfect for your room.

I also have 4 panels on my door. It is no problem opening them during the day. We have little ties things on the side. I don't think you need shears since you have the shade there.

Re: Need decorating advice (with pics)
I love the furniture in the room and like the color of the walls. What is throwing things off is the bedding. I would suggest changing it.
