Need Dentist for my sensory child

I am looking for a special needs pediatric dentist. My DS has reflux, and a feeding tube so he is extremely sensitive to anything in his mouth. I haven't been able to brush his teeth and now he is getting yellowing and discoloration from 2 years of vomiting.

Any suggestions. We live on the South shore of Western Suffolk and are willing to travel about half hour.

Thanks

There is a dentist who caters to kids with special needs in Southampton, to far? I could get the # if you want.

My parents live out east so Southampton isn't too far. Do you have the dentists name?

Re: Need Dentist for my sensory child

DS has had severe reflux and a horrible gag reflex that can easily cause reflux. It's gotten a little better as he got older, but part of that is because we have certain things we do to prevent it (when he eats in relation to activity, how much he eats, sitting up after, etc.)

We go to Dr Charles Pillar in Plainview. He's been really great with DS so far.

Dr Dawn Felicetti in Mass Park. I have a friend whose kids both have various issues and she swears by Dr Dawn. One of them has extensive dental work due to an underdeveloped jaw and she loves her.

Stony Brook has a dental school which is amazing. A lot of kids that were there didnt work out at the "regular dentist." We also went to Dr. Campisi in Wading River (with the banana chair?) I believe we called him Dr. C. I think it was suffolk pediatric dentistry. They were and are amazing and also have an office in Port Jeff or Mt Sinai - I cant remember, but they were excellent. My insurance wouldnt cover it after my son was 3, so I had the pediatrician and regular dentist write the insurance co a note saying my son needed dental work but refused to open his mouth and they gave us another year there. Good luck!!! Chat Icon

Tell me its the secretary in the Wading River office!!!!!! I actually left that office and drove all the way to the other one because I COULD NOT STAND HER! I felt like she belittled me when I didnt understand something etc. Soooo rude! They actually said we normally dont want you to switch if you live closer to WR. They asked why and I told them and they said weve actually had people switch before because of her!

I think you are talking about the Mid Suffolk Dentistry Practice right? Dr. Campisi is the sole dentist in his practice. His entire staff is AMAZING and I love the receptionistChat Icon very friendly. He is Wading River Pediatric Dentistry 929 1234. We travel from Western Suffolk to see him. You will not regret it! My son has reflux issues too.
