Need eye doctor recommendation for my 6-year old
Just before the break, my DS (6-yo 1st grade) was tested by the school nurse and both his eyes tested at 20/40. Now I have a form I need to have filled out and send back to school stating he had a complete exam.
I have no issues with it - I am as blind as a bat without glasses or contacts. But I use the eyedoctor at Costco and I am thinking I need to take him to someone else, maybe a pediatric one?
Anyone have any recommendations? My pediatrician gave me one, but I was looking to look into a few others before making a decision. Thanks!

Not a ped eye doctor but my DH has been using Susan Brunell on Wall St in Huntington Village since he was 4! She's very, very patient and kind. I'm sure she would be fantastic with your LO!

Nassau if possible! But Huntington is fine since I am close (I am north shore Nassau, close to Suffolk border).

I go to South Shore Eye Care in Wantagh. I haven't brought the boys but I know quite a few people who brought their kids there (even as young as 3) and were very pleased with how they handled children. I believe it is where my ped. recommends as well. I have seen Dr Flicker mostly (I had a crazy issue with my eyes and had to have even their specialist come in and look at them). I think Dr Benjamin is the one who most kdis see though.
