Need Help? anyone have kids with eczema?
Does anyone's kids have eczema? LO has minor eczema on face and arms. I have tried everything under the sun (triple cream, aveeno) and nothing seems to work. Is there a prescription I can ask the pediatrician to put on it?

My LO (3 months old now) had eczema when she was 2 months old. I used aquaphor on her face 3 times a day and it went away in 2 days.

Aquafor 2x a day is the only thing that works on DD if its realy bad i put Cortizon cream on it 2x a day till it clears

Aquafor, Aquafor, Aquafor.
The only other thing on her skin is California baby Calendula (sp).
I use aquafor after bath, first thing in the morning, about 3x through the day and before she sleeps. I haven't put anything else on her (yet). Her bad spots are her inner elbow, where it folds she scratches those until they bleed. So if she's only pinkish there, we consider it a win.

DS does. Aveeno made his WORSE! I'm talking almost bleeding, it was bad. Once we stopped using Aveeno body wash and body cream it cleared up. At the suggest of our ped, we use Cerave cream after every bath and California Baby body wash. We also had Aveeno sunblock and that made his face break out like a tomato, it was so red. I switched to Earth's Best for body Badger stick for the face and he's been fine ever since.

Aveeno also made DS skin SO much worse!
We use Cetaphil for his bath and Cerave for his lotion. Even better than Aquafor!

Definitely try Cervae cream. I also use California Baby wash/ shampoo for extra sensitive skin. I was also under the false impression that Aveeno would be good but it definitely wasn't for DS.

1. daily or twice a day moisturizer. Everyone has their moisturizer of choice. As a rule the messier and greasier it is the better. Stick with creams, and oitments over lotions. Eucerin, Cerave, and Aquaphor are all good choices.
2. Consider less frequent (3 times a week or every other day) bathing. Bathing dries out the skin. When you do bath put the moisturizer on right afterward.
3. Use bursts of steroids. On the face use no more than 0.5% hydrocortisone (unless your doctor approves more). You can stronger stuff on the body. Give it twice a day for a week. If it is not working you should talk to your pediatrician for stronger stuff.
4. Watch for signs of infection if the skin has yellow crusty stuff it could be infected and may need a topical antibiotic.
