need help breaking this up! trip to Miami in 3 days (driving)
so, we are driving from NY to Miami, leaving NYC on Tuesday evening (around 8 ish I hope). we plan to drive until around the Baltimore area and stop for the night.
we want to try to get down to around either Charleston SC or Savanagh GA by Wed evening, and from there get to Jacksonville Fl were we'll stay until Friday visiting family.
we plan on getting to Miami Fri afternoon, going to our concernt, then starting the trip back Sat late morning.
we are doing this FOR the driving experience...stopping off at different place. we will have to stop frequently (every 3 hours or so) to feed/change/play with my son.
those who have done the trip and/or live in areas along the trail (or I-95) can you give recommendations of LOCAL joints to visit/eat at.
I know there are eleventy billion chains along the i-95 but I am looking for some good local eats.
I'd definitely like a good breakfast place in Baltimore (or environs) and a good dinner place in both Charleston and Savanagh, and also Myrtle Beach on the way back.
so, tell me about your 1-95 favs and treasures.
TIA

I can tell you Savannah has some good restaurants on River Street. I'm sorry I can't remember any names, but they have great bakeries and restaurants there.

There is a GREAT restaurant in Charleston call Hominy Grill. Great southern food. Very well known for its cuisine.

Love Joe's but stone crab season ends May 15. So it depends if you will be there before or after that. As a former lifelong Miamian I always fo for Cuban food while I am there. Versailles is always a staple but I also like Havana harry's. Neither is "upscale" but both are good.

There are a lot of great Seafood restaurants in Murrels Inlet (just south of Myrtle Beach).
Drunken Jacks Hot Fish Club Lees Inlet
These are some of our favorites (we have a condo down there). There's a "fun" ambiance at Broadway at the Beach in MB but, most of the restaurants there are chains.
The only thing is - MB is about an hour or so off of 95 on local roads (so I'm not sure if you want to travel that far off of the beaten path).

Exit 118 off I-95 in Port St Lucie, FL. Go right (west) onto Tradition Pkwy into Tradition. There are shops, restaurants (a good bagel/breakfast/lunch place)

Charleston recs:
Not sure what kind of place you're looking for...fancy/not/eclectic..?
But if you want a beautiful place, I totally recommend Peninsula Grill in Charleston. Top notch food - but pricey.
Magnolias is AWESOME too. Also on the pricier end. But fantastic.
