need help from computer savy people please
My boy was banging on my keyboard...now its all messed up. I have rebooted...still the same. Changed batteries, still the same. When I hit a letter, 2 letters will be typed out. I can't hit return. If I use the number pad, the numbers type in date form. please help. thanks mhere is an ex\amhple of mhy typinvg. so annoyinvg.

I think he broke it....
just buy a new keyboard... luckily, they're the least expensive part of a computer!

Did you cold boot it? Turn it off by holding the power button for 8 seconds. Other than that FM GoldenRod

Doesn't sound like a typical broken keyboard. The letter combinations aren't close to each other, so it's not likely that the signals are getting mixed up...
Does it do this on every application? What I always do, when Windows fails, go to DOS.....
Click the Start button, then click "Run..."
Type "cmd" and press <ENTER>
just start typing words there. Doesn't matter what you type, I just want to see if whatever you're typing in is interpreting the keys wrong, or if it's the entire computer. The DOS prompt has the least amount of "stuff" going on between the keyboard and the screen.
Let us know if it still happens.
Also, are the errors consistent? If you back space over "annoyinvg" and retype it, will you get the same misspelling?

What kind of computer? Desktop or laptop? What version of Windows are you running? Do you have anti-virus software on your computer? Do you have speech recognition software running on your PC?
