Need help with NYC restaurants
My friends are coming to visit and need help with places to eat for both lunch and dinner. They would like to do one semi-fancy dinner in the city (general mid-town area) and also want options in the Times Square area for lunch. I don't know those places too well, help please! Also, if they are going out on a Wednesday night, would they need reservations? TIA!!

Not sure exactly what you are looking for but O'Briens in Time Square have amazing food for lunch. For Dinner one of my favs is the Banc Café on 30th & 3rd Ave. The food/cocktails are so good and there is always a great atmosphere.

DH and I love Maze in the London Hotel and BLT Steak for upscale restaurants.
We also like Tony DiNapolis and Carmines.

Need help with NYC restaurants
I like Parker and Quinn on 39th and 6th for semi-fancy dinner. Always best to make a reservation! Ask for a table in the back as the bar area can be noisy. http://www.parkerandquinnnyc.com/
There is also a rooftop bar upstairs which is part of the Refinery hotel http://www.refineryhotelnewyork.com/refinery-rooftop. They offer a smaller menu and can get crowded. If they are a group they can reserve a spot.
And also nearby is a great spot for lunch or a drink - Southwest Porch at Bryant Park. Very casual and so relaxing on a beautiful day or night! http://www.bryantpark.org/things-to-do/southwest_porch.html
