Need ideas for toy storage
We have a small house. No basement or playroom. Just bedrooms (2 boys have their own rooms) and a living room to put toys. Please show me or suggest a way to store them. I don't want them all out at once. This way if some are out of sight they become "new" when I switch them out. I don't want those primary colored bins on a rack. Looking for something that might blend better with my home furniture (brown wood or natural baskets). Can you please steer me in that direction? Or share your non colored bin ideas. Thanks!

Re: Need ideas for toy storage
I have a bookcase where we keep the boy's games and legos in. The legos are in a bin as well. It's a nice piece of furniture and looks good in the room. THe cabinets on the bottom hold the games and the bottom shelf of the book shelf I keep for their books. They can't reach above that so I have some cookbooks, family photo albums and pics above their shelf.
I also have a nice pottery barn laundry basket I use as a toy storage bin as well. Everything else is neatly put against the wall. The rest of their toys they don't play with as much or too big like the train table, roller coaster, and kitchen is in the basement.

Need ideas for toy storage
Not sure if you're totally against those bins but walmart has one that's espresso with cream colored bins. We just got one and I've been really happy with it. It holds more than I expected and is easy to keep things organized. We have that plus a large brown leather ottoman with toys, a bookshelf from PB Kids, and our coffee table has baskets with books and smaller toys. All that is in our living room bc like you that's really the only space we have other than DD's bedroom. She has baskets in her bedroom, a few things in her and my closet that I can rotate in and a bookshelf in our dining room that has craft stuff.

Need ideas for toy storage
I got a long boxed out dark wood piece of furniture from ikea and then putwicker baskets in the boxes. It matches my furniture and you can tell there are toys in all the wicker boxes.

We have the Ikea Expedit shelves in our living room. I plan on getting bins for them, and maybe even doors at some later point.
We also have a small house but we have one of the bedroom closets setup almost like a linen closet with shelves and I put a lot of her toys in there, then cycle them out so they become 'new' again. I also found that she has more interest in the toys that I leave out when I put more away.

I have this in our den. I didn't want anything childish in their either. I like that it is a toy chest though so it won't snap on her fingers.

Re: Need ideas for toy storage
I just got an espresso colored wood toy box from Land of Nod and I love it! It has a very pretty finish, so I actually don't mind it in my living room. It also has soft close brackets so DD can't slam the lid down on her fingers.

Re: Need ideas for toy storage
I have a Bellini toy chest. They are nice looking and don't slam shut when open which I like. I also sit on it on occasion so it's very sturdy.
ETA they come in brown wood.

Thanks, I might check each out. Not against the bins altogether. Just the primary colored ones. I didn't know they made espresso ones. I'm also leaning towards an ottoman.
