Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
Help!
DS is now in school 5 full days and he's refusing to eat lunch while there. He's picky to begin with so we only have a few staples that he'd eat. I rotate them but it's hard when there's so few things he'll eat.
He won't eat fruit - can't stand the texture.
He won't eat apple sauce, jello, anything soft.
His staples are grilled cheese, pancakes, peanut butter, or a bagel with cream cheese. And crackers. Some days he'll eat crackers but NONE of the 'meal'.
He's not eating ANYTHING. I need new ideas. What do you send your kids to school with?

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
My 3 year old eats like that. I actually send him the items you said- grilled cheese (I cheat and use the toaster) pancakes, waffles-etc., and make it right before he leaves and stick it in a container. He's got an insulated lunch box so the teacher said it's still warm when he eats it. He eats no fruits or veggies but I do send them in hoping maybe. Graham crackers, teddy grahams for snack. He loves Trix yogurt so that's always a good filler.

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
This is my DS' menu as well. So, as much as it's frusturating, I just send in what he likes:
Grilled Cheese (or a cheese sandwich) Pancake Waffle Chicken Nuggets Yogurt
I wish he'd eat sandwiches (turkey, ham, anything...but, no luck).

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
I feel like my DS (3 also) lives on chicken nuggets at school. He occasionally eats peanut butter. I may have to try sending in pancakes. He eats so poorly at school and then last night he barely ate dinner. He eats good for breakfast and that's it.
I have sent in ravioli (beef ones) and also pasta, which is hit or miss with him. He refuses all cheese and coldcuts. He does eat some fruit.

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
I'm in the same boat as you. Em is a real picky eater and won't always eat at school. She will usually have a good breakfast of cheerios and fruit. Lunch she has grilled cheese, pizza, nuggets or pasta. She can eat fruit all day long. I feel bad always giving her the same thing....but it's all shell eat.

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
We can't send nut butters, but I asked his teacher and hummus is okay, so this is something I send frequently.
Also--ravioli, chicken nuggets, mac and cheese, yogurt, cream cheese & jelly sandwiches, pumpkin bread or banana bread. One day I tried scrambled eggs--don't know how they were by lunchtime, but he ate them. He eats applesauce so various applesauces, yogurt, sliced pears, etc. I've been sending different fruit and veggies thinking maybe he'll try them, and he actually tried grapes last week (he used to like them a lot, but stopped eating them about a year ago).

Re: Need lunch ideas for school!!!!!
cheese sticks, buttered roll/bagel, bologna sandwiches, but my DS sometimes doesn't eat the bread. My school went peanut free this year which is a killer because DS loves PB sandwiches. Grilled cheese, ravioli, mac & cheese. My DS also does not eat fruits and veggies. I'm glad to hear, I'm not the only one.
He actually doesn't eat lunch a lot at school, but he eats whatever I packed as soon as he gets home.
