Need Motivation
Back in October, I was gung-ho ready to rejoin WW and take back control. I was doing fabulous, down over 10 pounds, and then . . . points+ came on the scene.
I have completely, 100% lost all interest and motivation to continue.
Help!

Re: Need Motivation
It took me a LONG time to join WW. I always thought I could do it on my own. My problem with that was, I always heard myself say "I'll start tomorrow...Ooh I goofed today, I'll start next week".
With WW, Sundays are my days. I Weigh In. It's my "My Time". I go to the meeting, no kids in tow. Im doing it for ME.
Sundays are my "off" days as well. Meaning, I give myself that day to not track or measure.
Mondays, Im right back on track!
With Points +, my motivation is the free fruit and veggies. If I'm hungry, thats what I grab.
You CAN do this!! As soon as I stepped into the first meeting, I was ready!

Re: Need Motivation
I go to meetings every week. Saturday is my day. I have lost interest in following the program. I don't like the points+ system -or maybe I don't like the hard sell the Saturday leader is giving it. He keeps talking about how he "knows" it works b/c WW is a weight loss company and they're not going to put out a product that doesn't work and risk losing their business.

Re: Need Motivation
i tried ww a few times. lost some weight. but gained it back. personally, ww is not for me. the whole tracking of points was annoying. not sure if i can do that long term.
right now, i'm not really "dieting". trying to develop good eating habits .... permanently. not only to lose the weight and i want to become healthy. trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, eat more protein. most importantly MAKE the time to excercise. even if this means waking up at the crack of dawn and schedule an hour. somebody that i commute to work with everyday goes to the gym at 5:00 AM then goes straight to the bus stop! he lost a ton weight.
on that note... i'm off to the gym!!!

Re: Need Motivation
One of the biggest things I find helpful is finding new, healthy foods and recipes. Often you end up eating the same foods on WW because you know the points value and you're comfortable with it. But it can also get boring. Go to the WW website, skinnytaste.com or other websites (with "cooking light" or "healthy" recipe options) and find new things to make. Look on the boards here- there are alot of healthy food options to try. Also, you can try a new activity- start running, sign up for a class, buy a new DVD.
I also find meetings to be very motivational. After I hear people talk about their successes, it always made me want to try harder. In addition, knowing I would have to face the scale every Sunday made me watch what I eat.

Can you do online instead of in person? I never found the meetings that helpful, and found it a pain to get to, so online works for me. But I know everyone is different.

While your leader is correct that WW wouldn't put out a program that doesn't work, because it IS bad for business, you might need a change of scenery. Maybe try a different meeting with a different leader. Remember, every leader has a different style and approach to their meetings. I lead meetings Monday nights in Lynbrook if you're in the area

I'm not anywhere even remotely near Lynbrook, but thanks! And I do think you're right, a change of scenery is in order. I skipped today, and will try the Sunday leader tomorrow.

I buy the monthly pass, so I have all the online access. I "need" the meetings to keep me focused, but it just doesn't seem to be working.
