need ob/gyn recs in Queens or Midtown Manhattan

I got one rec that I am looking into right now.

Does anyone else have a dr. that they LOVE, is pro-bf and VBAC that is in either Queens (pref. Forest Hills) or Midtown?

Thanks!!!

Is it sad that I have no idea if my OB is pro- VBAC and BF??? This is my first child though.

My OB is in midtown near the Time Warner building. FM me if you want the info.

I have an amazing OB in Manhattan but she's on the UES. If you're on the east side though it's right off the 6 train and only takes 10 min to get there (I come from midtown too).

Rachel Kassenoff is her name if youre interested. Delivers at Mt Sinai and I had a great experience there Chat Icon

Re: need ob/gyn recs in Queens or Midtown Manhattan

I LOVED my ob/gyn in Manhattan - Dr. Kenneth Kaplan. He delivers at NYU Medical Center. His office is 30th and 2nd ave. He is pro VBAC with specific criteria (He'll want to know how long between pregnancies, were there double stitches in the original c section, what is your general health, etc.)

I ended up needing a c section and after delivery he told me that he'd be ok with my having a VBAC if there were going to be 3 years between children.

Thanks! I will give him a call. DS will only be 2 years 4 months when I am due but I will ask.

I use Drs. Christopher, Hedley, and Henry near Grand Central - I don't know if they're pro VBAC since it's my first and it wouldn't have come up but they are pro-BF and deliver at Roosevelt Hospital. They were highly recommended to me by friends and I've had nothing but good experiences with all of them.

Re: need ob/gyn recs in Queens or Midtown Manhattan

I know my Ob-gyn has an office in Forest Hills. (Dr. Stephanie Buck-Haskin). When I used to live in Queens, I used her Forest Hills office. It's not as nice as her one in Great Neck IMO. She delivers at LIJ.

I have no idea if she is for VBAC since I only had one child so far and delivered vaginally. I do know though that she won't induce unless it's absolutely necessary because she feels it could lead to an unnecessary c-section.

I also chose not to breastfeed but she did not push anything on me.
