Need opinions..
My job is planning some fun kid activities for Bring Your Child To Work Day next Thursday. I was planning on taking my DD to work with me to participate but I just called her school and they will mark her down as an unexcused absence now I'm rethinking taking her out of school for this.
Thoughts?

I would still bring her. It will be a good experience for her and honestly I don't put any weight into the "unexcused" absences.

2nd grade
I'd still take her to work. Missing one day in 2nd grade isn't going to kill her and an unexcused absence really doesn't mean anything.

Yes, definitely take her. I think even as they get older it is more important to bring them in.
I brought my 12yr old niece last year and it was great for her.

Unless she has like 15 “unexcused” absences, it means nothing at all.

Re: Need opinions..
Being her... she will remember it forever. I remember going to my Dad’s a long time ago. She will not remember the normal day of school. A day off here and there is OK

Definitely bring her - one day of second grade won't mean anything to her - I am sure this day will have more of an impact.

Is 4 years too young to take to bring your child to work? Didn’t mean to highjack but wanted to ask...

yup... take her. My DS is in 1st grade. i actually got a letter from his district because he's missed too many days this year ( 4 for a family trip, and then a few sick days....) BUT i'm still sending him to work with DH that day ( he's an engineer and his work does a whole big thing with the STEM activities, etc for the kids) Its 1st/2nd grade-- they'll be fine! i think the teachers plan low-key activities that day anyway with a bunch of kids out...
