need opinions for price to pay "before care"

someone I know will do this for me as needed, but I absolutely plan to pay her as much as I would have paid anyone else. she doesnt want money, since our kids are friends, but no way. fair is fair. im going to work and it's only fair.

she'd have my boys (ages 5, and 7) from (and no more than) 7:30am-9am (and then put them on the bus with her son)
some days it may be 8am or even 8:15 depending on my work assignment.

so 1 1/2 hrs, 2 kids. what do you think a fair rate would be. I have a # in mind, but want to make sure its a good idea and get some opinions. and I will pay her the same flat fee even if theyre with her only half hour.

and Im asking for a "per morning" rate, bc this will be random as needed a day here and there.

25.00 per day. More if she will provide breakfast.

Last year Scope charged $275/mo for extended Kindergarten and that was from 8am - 11am. I would figure out the daily rate from there and offer that per kid with a 10% discount on the 2nd child.

I think I pay $7/day at my son's preschool.

I am in a similar situation as you. My son's best friend's mother who is also my neighbor will be driving my son to school daily for me. She willnot take any pay however, and I am hoping to do pick-ups to return the favor.

She also watched my son one morning a week for me last year and refused to take any money. I just got her big gift card for the holidays.

We are close and I have offered to pay her. $10 per hour is what I think would be fair, but I have only asked her to watch one child. I mean you are not asking her to watch an infant and chances are it will be something like a play date before school. She will not be giving them breakfast will she?

For two mornings 730-900 and two afternoons 345-430, I pay 165 dollars a month. I think $10 an hour is about right.

thanks everyone ! I'll def be dropping them off w breakfast. she has kids of her own to worry about feeding (but Im sure my boys will do the "can we have some of what YOURE having our waffles are boring" LOL)

In my school district, we have before and after care, It is $6.00hr per child.

Im sorry I cant offer much advice...

I do watch 2 girls before school but I also do after school...I charge each mommy $12 per day..but the girls are 10 years old going on 11 and Im more of just a body...

BUT...I would be prepared to haggle with her if you are insisting on paying her. Like you say you are going to give her $20 per morning and she says no...then say OK fine $15 but that's my final offer...KWIM?
