I can’t get into all the details but friends of my sister and her fh lost their daughter today. On Tuesday she was brought to the hospital and within a few hours they had diagnosed her with shaken baby syndrome. As of yesterday the babysitter had confessed to doing it. The little girl was 2 years old and had passed away this afternoon. The family needs all the thought and prayers they can get at this time.

First I want to say thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I am not sure if this would have shown on the news in NY but I live in NJ and it’s been on the news here. The babysitter is still in jail and the parents had court this morning. The babysitter admitted to police that she was stressed bc she was evicted from her apartment and that 2yr old Madelyn had been whiney/ fussy and she started to shake her and then threw her across the room a few times. Madelyn then laid on the floor for about 2 hours before 911 was called. The babysitter for those 2 hours sat and played on facebook. Madelyn suffered from Shaken Baby Syndrome. Madelyn was so violently shaken that her corneas were detached from her retinas. . I also wanted to add that this babysitter came highly recommend with references that were all checked in to and came back good. We are also being told that the parents ran a background check on her too that also came back clear. So please continue to keep them in your thoughts and prayers. This story is so heartbreaking.
When I went for the childbirthing class at GS when I was preggo they discussed shaken baby syndrome. They told us to make sure we told everyone who watches DC not to shake them. I remember because in today's day and age it should be common knowledge. I will not assume anything
