Need quick advice about "waiting" at a hospital
My DH is getting knee surgery (outpatient procedure) today and doesn't want me waiting with him at the hospital. I don't like the idea of leaving him alone. Does he have valid concerns about me not waiting there or is he being silly? Should I not stay in the hospital? it is only 10 minutes from where we live.

Basically, only really sick people go to the hospital. If there's ever a chance of catching something, that would be your best bet of catching it. Since it's so close to your house, I would recommend just staying home near the phone. They can call you when he comes out of anesthesia.

I agree you COULD catch something being at the hosptial but I don't think I could go home and wait. I worry to much and would need to be there. JMO

What if you just hang out in the car with a book or something? I don;t blame you for not wanting to leave him there..

Re: Need quick advice about "waiting" at a hospital
From the other end of the story, as a DH who has had out-patient surgery several times, *I* would be upset if my DW was waiting in the hospital for my surgery. She either went home, or went to the mall. She had her cell phone on, and the hospital had that number. You don't want to stress out the person having the surgery, either. They have enough to think about.
