Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
I've been reading such negative experience from members that went to East Coast. My OBGYN recommended them when we found my husband has infertility problems. I didn't know other places on Long Island and now I am thinking I am making a huge mistake. We have our first consult appoint. on Monday with Dr. Z. Please I need help!!

Definitely go for a consult at more than one place, and then make your decision

Lots of girls here, including myself, go to LI IVF. They have a good reputation on Long Island.

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
We are using RMA and though I haven't started my cycle yet, I am using Dr. Ruman and like her a lot. Their office has gone ab ove and beyond for me and it doesn't seem like a "mill" Their success rates are good and she used to work at LI IVF.
However, I think some other good centers are: North Shore, Cornell, NYU

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
Hi,
I am an East Coast Fertility "Graduate" as of this week. I used Dr. Pena and ended up truly loving him. I've met Dr. Z (he did some sono's on me) and he is WONDERFUL and a GREAT DOCTOR. However, I don't LOVE the staff (nurses, etc there. They are definitely not WARM people to say the least. That is the one thing that truly bother me. Putting that aside, we too male factor infertility and did IVF with ICSI. We are now pregnant after our first try with a singeton and thrilled. My Dr, Dr. Pena has been there for me through and through. He email's with me all the time weekends, day or night. He'll even call me at home on a Sat night if I am worried about something. I do recommend them.
Good luck!

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
If I do stick with East Coast, I will be going to the East Patchogue office, that is the closest to me.

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
I am a graduate of there as well. I did not click with Dr. Pena, and since I live in West Islip, I did most of my monitoring there and dealt with him. I felt he was very cold and not always clear with his answers; however, I believe that is just his personality. My OB said to me "if you want a doctor who will be your friend, he is not the one", "if you want a doctor who will get you pregnant, he is the one". So he's good at what he does.....I just did not click with him and had an issue with him after I got pg, but I don't think I'd steer someone away for that reason. As another poster said, he replies very quickly to e-mails, day or night, 7 days a week. The nurses are not that great, there was one in Plainview and one in West Islip who I found to be helpful, the rest, I could do without.
Best of luck to you!!

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
I went to east Coast fertility and had Dr. Kreiner and really liked him. My only gripe with them is their biolling department.
I went to the Setauket location, which is closed now and LOVED all the nurses there. I currently have 18 month twing boys..thanks to them

Re: Need Reassurance for choosing East Coast Fertility
Here's an update with my experience at East Coast Fertility...We went a few weeks ago and had our first consult with the Dr. He was very thorough and explained everything to us. We then were sent for blood tests and another S.A. Today I had a mock transfer and everything went great with that. Our next step is going to an IVF info session next week then start on meds in May. I am having some intense cramping though from the mock transfer today. Overall, we are asking a lot of questions and we are getting good feedback from the staff and the doctor. We have no complaints thus far.
