Need some gift help from the mommies please
I'm going to see my cousin and her newborn with my parents (her aunt and uncle). I've seen the baby before and brought gifts but mom and dad want to bring something.
We're just going for a few hours and then home, but they want to get her and the baby something.
We already gave generous shower and baby gifts.
What do you think we could bring besides a nice cake or fruit. Stuffed animal for the baby? Maybe something personal for her or maybe something for the mommy and daddy?
I don't know if anything is necessary.
Thanks for the help.

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
Most people brought like 2 outfits for casual visits. If you go to BRU its really not that expensive at all.

I would give a GC to a restaurant who does take out ($25).

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
Last thing I needed was more stuffed animals.
I find that people don't usually give PJs and I actually had to run out and buy some.
Would have also loved a GC to a local restaurant (chinese, italian, take out places) or for laundry service....

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
I got a lot of clothes for the baby as gifts but really cute outfits that you only wanted to use when other people were around or you were going out. What I didnt have enough of where the "Sleep N Play" outfits. They were good if I was just sitting around at home all day with her, I didnt want to put her in a fancy outfit.
Also , gift cards to restaurants for DH & I were nice gifts too
eta - I agree with the posts above - no stuffed animals! I am sure she got a million

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
Someone brought me 2 of those rotisserie chickens that are pre-cooked. Those are THE BEST things in the world, cuz i could pick at them for dinner and then i made a chicken salad for lunch.
I also agree with PJ's...no one bought my any for DD.

Diapers and wipes. You can never have enough.
Also I agree with the other posters... PJs and sleep 'n plays. I needed those the most.

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
I agree .. no more stuff animals please, thank you
I loved onsies and things she could just lounge in.
Since Im super money saver I'd appreciate diapers, wipes, formula or Gift Cards for stores that have it, ie BRU, Target, Costco, BJs etc. Very little goes very far when you know the diapers or formula is paid for. but that's just me.

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
great ideas. I've also been collecting some coupons for her. If anyone has any formula or other types of coupons I would really love to help her.
good idea about Pjs. More onsies. I have to figure out what take out places are around her area. She lives in Old Tappan. That may not be the best thing since it would be hard to figure out.
How would I know which diapers she uses? I know the formula but that has changed a few times with the baby already.
I could just call her..and ask.

I would get a GC then...

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
so mom and dad got a gc for Toys R Us/Babies R Us. I think they also got some onesies.
I picked up two rotisserie chickens and some flowers for her.
I've also put together some coupons for them.
I think that would do it.
Thanks for the help!

You are doing very very well... if you are doing all that, then I would stop and just get her a BRU G.C. I loved having those around... it was freebee cash, and could go grab what I needed when I needed it!

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
Yesterday we visited DH's college roommate and their 2 month old twins. I brought a tray of chicken marsala. They ran to the kitchen and started eating right away...lol.
I remember those days, my kids wanted for nothing but I was at the thought of cooking at the end of the day. I think your idea for a gc is great!

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
everything was a hit.
She was so sweet and put trays of nibbles out. Baby Zack was adorable but that's his job!
She was taken aback about the gc and the chickens.
She almost looked upset that I did that. She said that she cooked the other night and I shouldn't do that.
I told her that some other mommies thought having some food around that you didn't have to fuss with could be good. She appreciated it. I just think she's not used to being taken care of.
Thanks again.

Re: Need some gift help from the mommies please
What I actually found the most thoughtful was someone who brought me a bag full of diapers, wipes & A&D. This came from one of my closest friends, someone who also got me lots of shower gifts.
