Need some help - Italian Boy Names

We thought we had a name for a boy but we both seem to be less in love with it now (that could change again of course). We really want an Italian name and would consider the English version...for example Vincenzo = Vincent (but that name is taken).

Any suggestions?

Re: Need some help - Italian Boy Names

Well - my dad's name is Frank - so he keeps telling us to name the baby Francesco (even though that's not his name)

Giuseppe - Joseph
Gennero - Jerry

I'll keep thinking of members in my family. Chat Icon

Giancarlo is on my list for boy names. Also Galtiero (which is the italian form of Walter = Strong Warrior). We are using only G names, after DH & all the grandparents (they all have G names in Italian).

Re: Need some help - Italian Boy Names

Another vote for Matteo here - our neighbors are from Italy and their son is named Matteo. I've always loved the name, and he's such a sweet kid that I like it even more now.

I really like the name Raphael - but our last name is pretty Irish/English - so it doesnt go.

I named a plant of ours Gianni.Chat Icon

DH will be happy to hear that you are making me like Giancarlo more and more now. I always like the name - just wasn't sure about how it would go over with other kids. But I am starting to feel differently now. Chat Icon
