Need some help. does anyone have any advice? (a little long)

Ok - I placed an online order, when the product was delivered it was cracked.
I contacted the company and they gave me a return #.
It was returned and they never credited my account.
Now I can't get in touch with anyone from the company.

I know my bad - cause I should know better with ordering from places online that I don't know - but I guess my question is - is there anything I can do?

They have a telephone # listed - no one picks up - it just plays music.
I have written back and forth with customer service, and when I ask them to credit my account - they don't respond.

Here is the lastest letter I wrote to them (to deal with their customer service - you have to submit an online form) :

I placed an order on 7/17/2008, when it was delivered to its destination (as a gift) when the box was opened, the recipients noticed that the coffee machine itself was cracked.

I then contacted Customer Service, and they sent me a RMA code. I had the recipients then mail back the item to your company.

After a couple of weeks, I contacted customer service again asking if they ever received it (cause we received confirmation through UPS that it was delivered - but it was never confirmed with iKitchen). I did receive an email back from customer service stating that it was received and I was asked if I wanted something else. I said I wanted the same product. After this person researched some more, they came to find out that the product is discontinued and asked if I would like something else. I said if I can't get that product, that I would like my money returned. That email was sent 9/1/2008.

I then AGAIN sent another email to that same person asking for my account to PLEASE be credited, cause this is taking a long time to credit my account. That email was sent 9/4/2008.

It is now 9/12/2008 and I still have not heard from anyone in your company, and my account has still yet to be credited.

My order # is xxxxxxx
The RMA# is xxxxxxxxx
I have all emails that I have sent to your company and all emails that were sent back to me, if needed to resolve this issue.

Can someone please get back to me ASAP.

I really do not want to contact the Better Business Bureau.

** So can anyone give me any advice - or am I just poop out of luck Chat Icon
Thanks

File a complaint with the better business bureau. We had a similar problem, more along the lines of they said they shipped and billed it to us, but it never came and they would not provide a tracking number.

After them doing nothing, we filed with the BBB and the BBB contacted them, and magically the product appeared at our doorstep a week later.

did you pay with a credit card or a debit card

if you paid with a credit card - just fight the charge through them and keep all documentation to prove to credit card what happened - the credit card with remove the charge and not pay the company

Why do you not want to contact BBB? Did you just say that in your letter to be nice and give them another change?

In all honesty, I would wait till it has been a month since you return the product and contact BBB!

good luck!

I would contact your credit card company or bank (if made with a debit card) to see if they can help you.

Re: Need some help. does anyone have any advice? (a little long)

I made the purchase with my debit card (but as a credit - even though I think it doesn't matter)

I purchased the product in July.
As per the tracking receipt, they received the package on Aug 11.

So it has been a while now.

I was giving them the benefit that they would credit my account. I was giving them to the end of this week until I started taking the matter into my own hands.

I'd be a little more threatening, and more to the point.

I would say something like, if you do not credit my account by XX date, I will contact the BBB to file a complaint, and will file suit in Municipal Court. Give them something like 48 hours, if it's not done by then, file a complaint with the BBB first, and somehow CC them on your complaint, if you receive email verification of the comlpaint.

1. call your bank and dispute the charge

2. call BBB and make a formal complaint

I would fight it with the credit card company at this point

I agree.

It's also worth calling your bank to see what protection they offer.

File a complaint with the BBB and I would dispute the second charge with your Credit Card company. Good luck!
