Need to do a big food shopping today--how do you keep your LO occupied?

I've tried bringing books...she LOVES to look at her books, but she always winds up throwing them...and bending down is not an easy feat these days Chat Icon

I tried giving her the shopping list to hold...it ended it up in about 15 pieces. Same with the coupon organizer--all of my coupons went down in a flurry on the floor Chat Icon

How do you keep your LOs occupied while you shop?

M&M's-but only if he is good.

Sometimes I break open a box of Nilla wafers for him.

Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon I live in the South, so we don't have PeaPod. But I'm also a coupon maven, and I've noticed the groceries are more expensive around here when you buy them and have them brought out to the car.

DD is generally VERY good, but being the coupon mom I am, I do all sorts of math in my head before I buy, and it's very distracting to have to pick things up off the floor every two seconds Chat Icon

I have a better suggestion than before. Wait to go when DH comes home from work, so that you can shop in peace and take your time. Chat Icon

I leave him with Daddy and they have a blast! I Dont take Jason to the food store for a bulk shopping. He is a PITA! Trys to climb out/over the seat. So, unless its quick it's male bonding time in my house.

Stop and Shop has a cookie club where they give each kid a free cookie at their bakery! We stop by the bakery first, I grab him two cookies, and he is occupied with them for 15 mins while we run around the store (granted, he's only 10 months!).Chat Icon

I usually get either a package of goldfish or a loaf of bread and give her a piece. Plus she likes to hold the stuff we're buying so I keep her occupied by telling her what we're getting and letting her hold stuff.

You don't. You just grin and bear it or go without them.
Sorry that's not helpful but I think it's one of the hardest things to do with kids who aren't easily occupied with something.

Either one of 2 things... "borrow" a balloon from the bakery when we first walk in (leave it with the cashier on the way out) or open one of the items I am buying so they can snack - generally we will open the baby carrots and that works!
